The 1st call should go to Dabo. If he says no, the next call goes to Pruitt.

He inherited a disaster at Tennessee, he is a year away from bringing Tennessee back.

That is more impressive then what Kirby is doing at Georgia or Super Mario is doing at Oregon. Those programs are set up to be successful, unlike Tennessee.

Saban seems to respect him the most of his children. When saban hangs it up I'm sure he will prefer that Kiffin, Cristobal, or Pruitt take his place.

I'm not sure how much of that is for show/his real personality. Saban sees the potential in Kiffin and I've never seen him talk to a coach like that after a game. Saban sees greatness in him and I believe he is right. Who knows if Kiffin will ever achieve it though.

did Kiffin recruit well when he was at Alabama? I used to keep abreast of all the recruiting news but frankly, since Saban has been here reeling in #1 classes most years, I don't pay much attention anymore so I don't really know if Kiffin did or didn't recuit well.

I think there were some recruiting restrictions while he was here but he helped bring in Hurts, Tua, and Mac Jones.

Kiffin will get another blue blood and/or big money job. LSU, A&M, Texas, Auburn, or Bama I can see him at any of those places having great success.

I love Kiffin but he would need to show me that he has moved on from his Joey Freshwater, gun slinger self before I would want consider giving him the keys to the kingdom. He will win some games but Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin seems like a volatile mix.

This is the same guy that had blowouts in Oakland, Knoxville, and was dumped on the tarmac at LAX

People forget that USC ain't been shite since Lane and Orgeron left. Lane also was never given a full compliment of scholarships at USC because of the Pete Carroll regime. Pat Hayden who fired Lane at USC was a terrible AD who hired Clay Helton. USC was Lane's dream job. So, leaving Knoxville was warranted. Oakland was a clusterfrick due to Al Davis. Lane has his issues but the issues he encountered at some other places outpaced his issues.
