Yea Kirk wasn’t, but many others were. So because Kirk didn’t, I’m automatically lying.

Where's that Disney revenue coming from now? Movie ticket sales? Park tickets? Hotel occupancy? Disney is hurting too along with ESPN.

B/c it's a frick ton easier to keep everyone from potential transmissions when you have an entire league essentially quarantined off in a single area compared to trying to keep 100 college kids per team grouped on various college campuses and then traveling to other states to play.

It's not the same thing at all. If you could somehow have every single SEC team on a single campus the way the entire NBA is living at Disney right now the comparison could be made.

College football is the only reason I have cable/ESPN. I will be glad to cancel my cable subscription and save $70 a month if there is no season.

Hey, I'm right there with you. If there is no CFB I don't need Spectrum until football comes back. It'll be great for my wallet. But Spectrum doesn't want me to cancel and ESPN doesn't want me to cancel so to think that ESPN wants the season to get killed is crazy talk. A shite load of their people will 100% get fired with no guarantee of ever getting their jobs back if the season isn't played.

The people in power will take more money over their "agenda" almost every time.

I understand your point, Dr, but their talking heads are calling for it to be cancelled literally right now.

I haven’t see one person say he thinks it should be played. They may want it to because they are fans, but they can’t say it because they have been given an agenda to run.

I'm not sure why this even has to be explained

Those people will make their money regardless if the season is played or not. Disney is basically amazon. They have money growing on trees. ESPN may be hurting, but Disney could bail them out for a million years. Disney owns a lot of shite.

They could keep them all in the same building. As long as they are 6ft apart and wear a mask in public they can’t get it anyways... right? NBA players have been leaving the bubble and inviting women in anyways.

Seems like a dumb move by them to ostracize the conference that has provided 10 of the last 14 national champions.

Disney just posted their first quarterly loss in nearly 20 years. They own a lot of shite which means they have a lot of overhead and if they aren't collecting money from their various ventures they aren't going to be able to sustain their current expenses. ESPN was already on Disney's shite list b/c they hadn't planned very well for the money lost from cord cutting. Losing an entire quarter of major advertising money is going to be a huge deal for them and Disney.

Worth $130 billion doesn't mean liquid assets of $130 billion...no company, no matter what they are worth, is going to be happy losing over a billion dollars...

But thats not how this works, companies don't just let certain areas tank so they can push an agenda and cover their loses somewhere else. You are really downplaying how hard companies(even massively successful ones) push to get the best margins possible.

ESPN is pushing the leagues with whom hey have contracts to play. They want to be the only game in town.

In theory yes but we all know its way more difficult when you have like 4-5 times has many players involved.

NBA players have been leaving the bubble

The players that were caught doing that, had to go back through the quarantine process. They didn't just let them show back up with everyone else.
