Louisiana for flavor, Florida for variety

Columbia has a few good Jamaican restaurants as well.
To the poster that said Mustard BBQ... that is one area of middle SC. Carolina Gold isn't bad when done right.
I make a version with Scotch bonnets and Thai Chilies. Based off of one of the sauces from Central BBQ in Memphis. Excellent addition to a Charcuterie board for the holidays.

I’m going with Florida here. The grouper pushes it in their direction.

Florida. Not sure how this is even a question.

Partial to Louisiana obviously but Mary Mahoney’s in Biloxi is my favorite restaurant anywhere. Get u some of that seafood au gratin

Louisiana has better cuisine, Florida has greater
variety. Alabama just fries everything and forget
seasoning. Mississippi comes in a respectable
third. Also, catfish isn’t seafood. It’s good eating
but it’s not seafood.

FL, no other state is even close in the diversity of seafood offered.
Every other coastal state in the SEC has pretty much the same thing going on, or is importing it just like the midwest.

Don't let Mississippi fool you. The cuisine on the coast is stout. Basically an extension of LA cooking.
Yep.
It's hard to find a place that isn't good in Biloxi, Ocean Springs, and Gulfport.

So you went to a steak house and got seafood and determined the entire city had bad seafood? I’d expect nothing less.

I never said I got seafood at the steakhouse. I was using that as an example of how Texas food has been disappointing.
To be honest, I don't specifically remember eating seafood while in Texas, but the beef (which Texas is known for) dishes (brisket excluded) were disappointing enough that I can't imagine the oil-polluted seafood would be any better.
And don't even get me started on the beer. Coors is genuinely higher quality than just about every Texas brew I've had.

Your disdain for all things texas is so transparent that you might need to seek counseling. Miss state? Funny

It's not about having abundance of seafood but how it's cooked and how it tastes.
Louisiana hands down. Plus Louisiana cooking has basically been passed down to other states.

I don't know who has the best seafood, but I sure do miss the mini season down in the keys. Gathering with friends and having a huge seafood barbecue with a fresh catch is pretty hard to beat for me.
Also they are trying to curtail it this year it seems.
Will Keys close for mini season?
