We know. You've been the main one rambling on about it in every related thread.

Because Brees just said something stupid. They didn’t go after him randomly.

This is low class considering the racist history at bama

I'll start taking this seriously when they have the same opposition to music that includes the same type speech.

yes, the SEC was just wonderful about race in the 50s and 60s. No fellow SEC member --new or old-- can pin racism on another member without being a hypocrite.

That joke is bad. Coach needs to be fired. No excuse for that shite.
Grow a pair. I’ll bet those black players happened to typically sit together in the back of the team bus.

If they choose to sit, I would’ve happily filled in while I was college. Playing college sports would’ve been awesome. Playing high school sports was awesome, and it was common for whites and blacks to bust each other chops with comments that’d be considered “racist” now. That was 2012.

Got a link or a short explanation?

Scroll down to Sports Lite. It's all in there. What he said isn't stupid. He's entitled to his opinion just like everyone else is.

I’m sorry, but it’s stupid.
The “muh anthem” crowd hides behind the “respect the military” angle because they don’t want to admit they disagree with the protestors.
The anthem being played at pro sports games is tacky to begin with. I love it in college sports environments but it really doesn't belong in the for-profit NFL environment. It’s fake, forced, and most importantly is selling out patriotism and the sacrifice of our troops, and people who get mad about the kneeling don’t deserve to claim patriotism because of this.
I don’t think Brees is racist, but I do think he’s afraid of upsetting racist fans, and that’s bad. I hope he comes out and tries to clear this up because that comment was weak.

No it's not. Plenty of people feel that not standing for the flag is disrespectful. That’s their right just as much as anyone that wants to kneel in protest.

Drew Brees has done great in the league and in the community. This doesn't apply to him and frankly is incredibly ignorant directing it his way.

Since when is standing up for what you believe in weak?

This isn't not standing for the flag at a memorial event, community event, or something similar. This is not standing for the anthem at a profit-generating NFL football game.

People can say whatever they want. However, if they say stupid stuff and get called out on it and lose fans, they have no room to cry about it.

I'm not disputing this. If you read my entire comment, I even say I don't believe Brees is a racist. I think he's just being a coward in this scenario.

I don't think whining about players kneeling at a phony, cheesy playing of the national anthem is "standing up for what you believe". I don't think that most people bent out-of-shape at the kneeling even give a shite about the anthem (or even the game of football).
At this point, it's clear to most adults that this whole thing is about ensuring the protections and liberties ensured by our constitution are extended to every American. Because this is America, you are welcome to oppose this movement, but in doing so history will remember you no differently than those who burnt the flag after the 9/11 attacks.
The killing of Floyd was an attack on America (actually the latest in a series of attacks). And for better or worse, America will always attack back. If Brees or whoever else refuses to stand with this country, they risk being run over.
