Orgeron will always have the hardware to fall back on. Then again.. so does Gene Chizik.
Chizik is the main reason I don't think Orgeron trumps Kirby on 2019 ALONE (which is why his 2018 job supports that 2019 wasn't a fluke).
Kirby did make the CFP finals, win an SEC title and one the East in another year. He's technically one win in OT away from having more hardware than Orgeron in a similar time frame. That's NOT saying Kirby is better, just that the two are close enough that one could make valid arguments for either.

However, O is objectively better
Based on what? Championships? Yes, but then he’s only as good as Chizik, which I don’t thinks the case. In terms of career winning percentage or record against top 10 opponents Kirby has the edge. There’s no definitive way to answer the question, especially since O has coached longer.

Do I have to copy and paste from my previous post that very clearly illustrates this?

Orgeron has a natty and beat Kirby both times they faced.
Not sure what more you can ask for?

And accomplished more. Which some of you seem to think doesn't matter, for some reason.

Two seasons more?
Damn so long.

Sure there is. Look at the accomplishments of both at their current schools and you will objectively see, if you put down the red colored glasses, that CEO is the better coach between the two.
Better yet, please tell us what makes you think Kirby is better than O when comparing the jobs they've done at LSU and UGA.

How many years did it take O to win a natty? 8 years? Oregon’s life time record is 56-36. Smart’s is 44-12.

As far as consistency: CEO is averaging 11.33 wins per season as HC at LSU. Kirby is averaging an even 11.
Ed only has 3 full seasons and a partial one as HC for his resume (at LSU). Averaging wins with such a small sample size is a bit rough. Prior to his final season, Chizik "averaged" 10 wins per season.
I'll definitely grant you that CEO has tougher competition. I just wouldn't use averages and then discount CEO's first season (albeit a partial one) but not Kirby's. In their last 3 seasons, Kirby is averaging 12 wins to CEO's 11.3.
I'm just saying that Kirby is literally one pass play away from having a leg up on CEO, if we're looking at wins and hardware. CEO definitely has the best season out of all the coaches though.

Why are you cherry picking years? Is the question which coach has had a better career or which has had a better season? Smart has been more consistent throughout his career. Oregon’s best season is better than Kirby’s best season.

How many years is it gonna take Kirby to do it at Georgia? Is he ever gonna do it?
Be honest with yourself.

Because comparing Smart at Georgia to Orgeron at Ole Miss is something only Georgia fans so they can feel better about Smart.
Here's the numbers for their current jobs (which is all that really matters right now anyway):
Kirby Smart
Georgia record (2016 – present): 44-12
Career record against SEC opponents: 26-10
Ed Orgeron
LSU record (2016 [interim], 2017 [full-time] – current): 40-9
Career record against SEC opponents: 23-7 at LSU

I have no idea. I don’t think anyone knows.

Orgeron has been a head coach 6 years to Kirby's 4.

Ole miss and USC are still part of his resume. You can’t just ignore data that you don’t like.

That's the point. Ed doesn't have to answer those questions in press conferences anymore.
Kirby, on the other hand...

We'll compare Kirby and O's records at those programs when Kirby takes HC jobs there.

Again, because it makes you feel better about Smart.
Its likely Smart isnt doing very well if he is the coach of Ole Miss either.
I love how Georgia fans like to compare Smart at Georgia vs Saban at Michigan State or Orgeron at Ole Miss.
Whatever makes you feel better.
