Didn’t UGA beat Clemson the last time they played? It wasn’t close either.

Only 3 teams were ranked ahead of uga. That was with giving Ohio st our qb. Not bad.
There’s a pecking order.
LSU takes QB from tOSU
tOSU takes QB from UGA
UGA takes QB from Wake Forest

but he's an average coach at best
He's done more in his first five years than Saban, O, Dabo, Mullen etc etc etc.

Kirby is a great recruiter. Its time for him to make a shift offensively. Fromm seemed to regress in the current system.
The Germans just bombed Pearl Harbor. In other news, UGA has hired a new offensive coordinator.

Much like the fact that your new quarterback was basically Jake Fromm in the ACC.

Kirby took over a team that had finished ranked with 10 wins and the 6th ranked recruiting class the year before yeah totally the same

They went 10-3 two consecutive seasons before Kirby.

Don’t forget this: That 2015 team may be considered the worst 10 win team in power 5 history. Was really the equivalent of a 7-5 team with an insanely easy schedule.
Don’t ignore this: richt let the roster slide way down as the draft was proving.

Does all this make you feel better about Kirby?

Much better considering how quickly he elevated program.

It wasn't ranked and almost lost to Georgia Southern in OT.The team got crushed by Florida and Alabama
He "inherited" one of the worst UGA senior classes in the last 25 years (ZERO drafted) and his best QB prospect was an incoming freshman

Why was Fields only allowed to hand the ball off iyo?

Kirby inherited a 10 win team with a roster full of top 10 talent in one of the most talent rich states in the nation. Those are facts. He basically inherited a gold mine and stepped into a dream situation as a HC. Heading into year 5 now, he still has zero NC's and only 1 SEC title to his name. He's done no better than Richt did his first 4 years in Athens.
Bottom line, Kirby is an elite recruiter, but so far has not been able to take UGA to the next level on the field. Not only has his offense been a joke, but the rate that he is developing all that talent and putting them into the league leaves alot to be desired. His on the field coaching has also been mediocre at best, with at least one blowout every season, random bad losses (hello South Carolina) and inexplicable calls in big games (hello fake punt vs. Alabama). He may turn into a great coach in time, but he simply is not at this time anything more than an elite recruiter. As was Les Miles, Ron Zook, Larry Coker, etc, etc. So many Dawg fans acting like he's a Bear Bryant or even Urban Meyer level coach is simultaneously funny and pathetic. He's a chubby recruiter. Congrats, dawgs.

I guess that whole taking his team to a NC his 2nd year as a HC and being one bad ref call from winning it alluded you idiots somehow.

Literally nobody thinks he’s a “great coach” so calm down buddy. He’s an elite recruiter and hopefully learning how to manage the team better with his shift to a new OC. At year 5 I would say he’s as good or better at this time than many coaches in the SEC at their 5th year

Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades, unfortunately for Kirby. Enjoy that moral victory. That trophy resides in Tuscaloosa, not Athens.
