Lol yeah no other short QB has ever had to throw over taller lineman before, and I know of none that have had any success.
Name one that was a pure, dropback pocket passer.

Lol at your stupid parameters. A “pure, dropback passer” to eliminate people like Russel Wilson. Like it’s a bad thing to be able to rush as a QB. Just because you can be effective in both phases doesn’t mean you “have to” like you said
ETA: and Brees is 6.’ He has to pass over those “6’6” offensive lineman” like you said. He’s a pure dropback passer

Your fellow Bammer was pointing out that Kyler produced well even though he was "small" and I pointed out that Kyler was much heavier than Young when he had his Heisman season
Murray was a junior when he had his heisman season. Bryce has 3 years to put on weight and muscle before his junior season.

You're talking in circles now.
I said Young wouldnt be able to constantly play from the pocket because of his height and you tried to say other guys have so I asked who then you went off on some weird tangent.
Rushing and playing outside of the pocket are two different things. Tua played outside the pocket a good bit and it exposed him to more hits. He wasnt much of a runner however.

I agree.
Again, my comments were directed toward those who think Young will be the starter in 2020.

And then I edited and named one. Russell Wilson is amazing in the pocket. So is Drew Brees. People can do it. If you would actually educate yourself and watch something you might see that the talent is there.

Once again, I said constantly play from the pocket.
Neither Wilson nor Brees do that, both do a ton of rollouts.
I watch the Saints every Sunday so I actually have "watched something and educated myself".
Brees is probably the only "short" quarterback that doesnt take a ton of hits from playing outside the pocket but then again, he's an all time great.

Myles Brennan (180 lbs) weighed less than Bryce (183 lbs) when he was recruited. Brennan (6'3") did have 4 inches on Bryce (5'11"), according to their 247sports recruiting pages.
Side by side let's see who is bigger.

WillyT, you’re not a nice guy. Apologize right now!

Here's Brennan today.

Murray was listed on 247sports as 5'10"; 180 lbs as a recruit
which was a stretch. He's probably 5' 9" at best

Brennan will be bigger than Young his whole life.
I agree that Jones keeps the qb position at Bama this season. Young isn't Tua. Tua's don't just fall out of the sky that often and still he didn't start over Jalen. SEC football is a huge jump for a qb out of HS.

Those things always give "size challenged" guys a little extra.
I think MaxPreps has Bryce at 175 pounds and Rivals has him at 183.

No doubt.
Trevor Lawrence was the "next greatest thing" and dude hasnt even been in the Heisman conversation in his first two seasons.

It was an Alabama fan that made that initial comparison.

Not really.
I'm just saying Bryce Young will not be starting for Bama in 2020.
