Really?

Maybe. But Ruggs, Smith, or Jeudy couldn't crack the starting lineup as freshmen in front of Sims or Foster.

Sims and Foster were studs who suffered due to inept QB play.

Studs is a stretch, but even allowing for an incredibly liberal use of the term, neither of them are/were better than any of the three freshmen they played in front of for the entire season.

So you don't think guys that made NFL rosters aren't "studs?"

Everything is relative. I think they are good players. I don't think they were studs at all in terms of their play in college. That spans four/five years, so just saying it was because of Jalen Hurts doesn't hold water. Heck, even with Jalen Hurts plays were there to be made at times that they didn't make.
I definitely don't think either of them was better than Smith, Jeudy, or Ruggs, each of whom I would classify as studs.

Foster was a stud.....just never quite came together at Bama but we saw flashes of it for sure. Seems to be doing well in Buffalo

Why are people sniping at each other? Guy brings info from a news source and he is attacked for being a fake insider. Ridiculous.

He had a very solid rookie season but seems to have been phased out of the offense this season. Only three catches all year.
Edit - And I'm not trying to trash the guy. I just can't fathom how we call someone who had 35 catches, 389 yards, and 3 touchdowns for his entire career a "stud."

Foster has been injured this season in Buffalo.

Jalen Hurts was the QB. That's how that's explained.

If you weren't watching games when Hurts was the QB and you are trying to use statistics to gauge a guy's talent you won't get this right.

Ardarius Stewart, and Calvin Ridley didn't have trouble catching passes from Jalen, relatively speaking.

For two seasons. Foster was here five years, as was Sims. Richard Mullaney was here at the same time as them, for one year, and basically put up a better Crimson Tide career in that one season than either of them did in the entirety of their careers.
Either way, any suggestion that Sims or Foster were at any point better than Smith, Ruggs, or Jeudy (which was the initial point) is ridiculous.

Those aren't his stats... 30 catches for 604 is what nfl.com says.

Yeah, we're talking college career here.

Jalen is a one-read and then bail QB. He always has been. So all the targets are going to be to the top 1 or 2 receivers. Jalen's sophomore year Ridley had 63 receptions. Next highest guy was Scarbrough with 17.

And, that was a gross misuse of talent because Foster, Jeudy Smitty, and Sims were getting snaps too. There was a news article during the playoff in 2017 where the WRs were talking about Jalen locking in one WR (Ridley) and neglecting them. Jerry Jeudy didn't just get good and get open once Tua became the QB and I'll say the same for all those guys. Go back to the 2017 season and read all the posts about the WRs who were open but Jalen wasn't passing them the ball.

Foster didn't get many snaps his freshman year which is normal at Bama. Foster was hurt and missed virtually all of the 2016 season too save the season opener if memory serves me right. Mullaney looked like hot shite too with Jalen. Go back and look at Mullaney's highlights before coming to Bama and look at his play at Bama. Cam Sims was a 6-4 or 6-5 WR who Jalen didn't take advantage of.
As far as I can say I believe it's inconclusive whether Sims and Foster were as good as Jeudy, Smith and Ruggs because the latter got to play with the greatest QB in Bama history and one of the best college QBs ever. Sims and Foster really only got one game to play with Tua and that was the 2017 national championship game.
