We may be stuck in up and comer mode, IMO. And last time out the thing with Norvell is almost the exact same scenario.
This time we should try not to burn that bridge because Drinkwitz may very well end up being at a big program in the near future.
The lack of P5 experience is concerning. But I don't think it should be a deal breaker at all. My #3 on the wish list was Craig Bohl. All these guys have to get started somewhere. We need the best possible X's and O's guy we can find, IMO.

And who has said that about this guy, prior to this coaching search fiasco?

I'd say that guys who win all their games are real good X's and O's guys.

Wonder if Sark (after dark) has rehabbed enough at Bama yet and wants a comeback tour as HC?

Like no P5 experience whatsoever? Like almost no chance of assembling an SEC caliber staff? Like being at the absolute bottom of an incredibly steep learning curve, that takes years at best to learn, and has eaten better, more experienced coaches alive? Like being willing to be fed to a fan base that is now out for blood, because we fired a coach who was woefully over his head, and hired one with even less experience? What boxes exactly does Drinkwitz check? Willingness to take the job?
It may be time we accept that we really screwed up 2 years ago and nobody wants this job. Lots of negatives going against us right now.
Anybody expecting some big name proven winner Is screwed. Lane was our one shot at a name and that’s gone whether it be our fault or somebody else’s.
Eliah Drinkwitz could be one heck of a hire.
He’s been around the SEC and ACC before. He’s been in college football for a decade and had some pretty good mentors. If that’s not enough then somebody should tell Oklahoma that Lincoln Riley should be fired because he isn’t qualified.
We are essentially asking a guy to risk his career to come be our coach.

Right, because the situation the coach before him left behind has nothing to do with it right? And the strength or weakness of the conference and division they are in has nothing to do with it either. Nor does the program’s standing within that conference.

Riley took over a program he was at to maintain not build.
If age is a factor then experience should be equally.
But no we don't want a proven winner because he's too old and just built a program 3 years ago, no gas left in the tank.

If we are going to hire Butch Davis then what is the fricking hold up?

HY's obsession with social media.
He needs to win the social media game not actual games.

Lincoln Riley is surrounded by the best coaches money can buy, a program history that rivals Alabama, and is one of two schools that absolutely rule the conference they are in. There is literally nothing to compare between Oklahoma and Arkansas. Nothing.

When Hugh Freeze or Art Briles would probably be just as willing?
If it is either one of those two it shows that Yurachek is in way over his head because both could have been signed last weekend. And been recruiting by now.

Needs to be one of those two

Briles could have been here a month ago, or is Texas Highschool Football to big to walk away from?
Drink is in como, he isn't leaving. Announcement expected this afternoon.

Hell if Ole Miss can get Lane Kiffin already done and they didn't even fire their coach until a week ago and Yurachek has been playing slap dick for over 3 weeks, pretty much confirms it.

He had to pay a search firm for background checks then check social media for reactions, follow-up with candidate s social media presence.
You know the stuff that really matters.

Kleiman took over a national championship winning FCS team and did a great job at Kansas State. Norvell was in a similar position 2 years ago. If people are going to blame Morris for taking a bad team and making it worse they should give Drink credit for taking a good program and making it better.
His offense had a lot of players make first team all-ACC his final year at NC State:
Ryan Finley, Quarterback
Kelvin Harmon, Wide Receiver
Jakobi Meyers, Wide Receiver
Tyler Jones, Offensive Tackle
Garrett Bradbury, Center

What is his Twitter game like tho? That just means more.

And Ole Miss just has one guy who walks around like a big dick in the locker room, saying him and its done?
That's either really good or really bad.
Also don't they have to keep the job posted for a certain amount of time before they can close the deal?

I don’t think either scenario requires a particularly good coach.
