Which means the clock stops for how long after the official signals a first down?
Until the ball is set.
The ball never was set until a replay review established that the clock should have been stopped with 1 second left so that the ball could be set.
Yes, the replay review allowed Auburn time to get their FG team on the field ready to snap the ball.
But it's not Auburn's fault that the refs didn't set the ball with 1 second left in the first place like they should have done.
A very similar scenario played out in 2016 with LSU and Auburn -- the officials stopped the clock for a penalty (illegal shift against LSU) and for reasons I can't recall they didn't invoke the 10 second runoff. The ball was moved back (this is part of why LSU struggled to get set but still no excuse) and LSU scrambled to get their team up to the new line of scrimmage. The refs set the ball while LSU was still scrambling to get set. That precious second ticked away while LSU was still trying to get set. Etling threw a TD that didn't count. Les Miles was fired, The End. Ed said we coming and we came times infinity.

10 second runoff only applies if the clock was moving. If the clock was stopped when the penalty happened (e.g. after a time out), there is no 10 second runoff. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)
