Hopefully the committee starts putting weight on ooc schedules. You have teams like bama and OSU that schedule cupcakes while teams like UGA, auburn, LSU, and a&m schedule real games.

I'd say Bama's past schedules look better than UGA's.

2016: USC
2017: FSU
2018: Louisville
2019: Duke

They look basically the same and I don’t see how anything before the playoff era is relevant considering my post was addressing the playoff committee giving relevance to ooc scheduling. Bama has played decent ooc opponents before, but that doesn’t give them a pass for the recent scheduling they’ve done. I think 2015 Wisconsin was the last ooc team bama played that finished the season in the top 25.

I added some info about those "good" opponents:

2008 Neutral - #9 Clemson 7-6 year end NR
2009 Neutral - #7 Virginia Tech 10-3 year end #10 – Bama actually played a name team in its prime
2010 Home - #18 Penn State 7-6 year end NR
2011 Away- #23 @ Penn State 9-4 year end NR
2012 Neutral - #8 Michigan 8-5 year end #24
2013 Neutral - NR West Virgina year end NR
2014 Neutral - NR VaTech year end NR
2015 Neutral - #20 Wisconsin 10-3 year end #21 –Surprise! Paul Chryst did better than expected his first year
2016 Neutral - #20 USC 10-3 year end #3 –Surprise! Clay Helton did better than expected his first full year
2017 Neutral - #3 Florida State 7-6 year end NR
2018 Neutral– NR Louisville 2-10 year end NR
2019 Neutral – NR Duke 4-7 so far, likely NR at year end

Conclusion: Lots of programs with name recognition but nowhere near their historical prime, except for 2009 VaTech, and the two with first year head coaches who did better than expected 2015-Wisconsin and 2016-USC

In those 12 years listed, 8 were Not Rated at year end. That’s hardly a murderers row of OOC opponents.

UGA played most of their opponents when they were actually good and ranked at the end of the year.
