No it wouldn't. People think Leach is the go to because "hes the pirate". Dude was 4-4 two weeks ago.

He's a gimmick

You don't take historically bad programs and have the success that he's had for nearly 20 years on gimmicks.

Mike Leach was 84-43 at Texas Tech in his 10 years there.

The 10 years prior to his tenure TT went 62-53.

The 9 years after his tenure TT went 56-57

He's been at WSU for 7 years and has gone 49-40. The 7 years prior to his tenure WSU went 24-60.

Art Briles

I can take it a step further. He could win with the team we have now.

I like Briles, baggage and all.

Leach wouldn't be awful, but Norvell and Kiffin are better fits.

Butch Davis is interested in the job. I guess if he brought in great assistants then that could work.

Bottom line, we're in a better spot today than we were a week ago.

The rumor is supposedly leach has already reached out through back channels and our ad shot it down at the get go basically from my understanding which is complete lunacy in my eyes

Arkansas will be paying two coaches to not coach so the best route is to go after Art Briles. He would be considerably cheaper than Leach. Both can win at Arkansas but Briles has the connections to Texas High Schools full of over looked players.

thats a good call as well

Idk, just using logic. If U of A isnt interested in the guy who everyone thinks is good, that leads me to believe they are set on better candidates.

Also, dont let forum chatter lead you to believe anything after a few days.

He may not win the sec west there but would be sure fun games vs Alabama, LSU, Auburn. Of those 3 teams Leach would win one of them every yr. He did that at Texas Tech ( beat Texas one yr ) he can do it at Arkansas.

I don't know if any coach could recruit top 10 classes to arkansas. So I think that leach would be a great hire. All he does is take 3 star guys and create solid teams.

I dont know any program than A&M that can recruit so well and not win anything of substance.

Very true.

Sry I dont want a guy because everyone thinks hes cool because hes the pirate. Hes been successful, but we could do better.

I have faith in HY after Mussleman hire and getting Jordyn Wieber from UCLA out of nowhere.

Sry Pirate, do better next time

Except they already passed on him last time around and instead hired Chad Morris who went 4-18 in two seasons.

Why do we just automatically assume a school like Arky can just go out and get Leach if they want him. Maybe he likes it at Washington State and doesn't want to leave.
