Surgery on an injury that occurred 12 hours earlier, on a weekend, will not have time to be approved by an insurance company- unless it is considered an “emergency “.

Surgery on a sprained ankle-high or otherwise- will never be considered an emergency.

College teams have insurance policies for their players, and therefore those players have to abide by the policies of those insurance companies.

Therefore, since the insurance company will not pay for Tua’s surgery, WHO will?

Most athletes are covered by the University Policy. Plenty of College Athletes receive many DME (Bracing, cold therapy compression) type of devices immediately and the Universities file the claims they have on the insurance policies. Also usually the Athletic departments have contracts with local Doctors, surgeons, hospitals and Surgery Centers to cover the care for their athletes. Athletes of all sports

You are barking up a tree for a problem that doesn't exist.

Focus on Auburn

I think the surgeon is probably on the University medical staff so his pay is covered. I think there is probably an agreement between the university and the facility to cover medical costs.

Honestly, I don't know much about the procedure and want to read up on it, but I am surprised they were able to perform the procedure with swelling in that area.

I would think that every team Tua gets to play after his surgery would pay for his operation, and pay dearly.

Holy shite! Just when you think you've seen the dumbest post ever on the SECr, some dumbass from the Tiger Rant wanders over and posts something so spectacularly stupid that your jaw drops.

Who paid for them to fly in a doctor that actually speaks Hawaiian to explain and perform the procedure?

Something doesn’t add up

They have a secret stash of spam at Bama. It is the best spam. That attracts Hawaiians.

Probably the same “who” that paid when the LSU player received the exact same surgery.

Let’s hear you argue that it’s not an “emergency”.

Meh. It's something I'm honestly curious about. Obviously they should have access to the best care.
