Saturdays in the South: History of SEC Football is an embarrassment

So the sixth episode aired tonight that covered 1990-1999.
Expansion, Manning, Spurrier, etc. you knew would all be covered.
So I thought that Arkansas may get a little play on the episode, I mean they were instrumental in bringing about the modern era of CFB with conference title games, realignment and such.
Episdoe starts and theres about 25 minutes if nothing but Spurrier, then of course we get to hear more about Alabama, a school the entire series has covered ad nauseum (I get it, they kind of are the SEC, but constant Bear Bryant stuff was just over the top.)
Then they finally get to a bit about expansion. I'm thinking maybe they got Frank before he died to do an interview or at least some media guy.... Nope... One photo of Roy Kramer and Frank and one mention of Arkansas and S. Carolina.
So I'm thinking, OK, well maybe they'll hint at Huston Nutt and the 98 seson a little bit.
But then we gret basically another hour of Manning, Tennessee, lots and lots of Florida, and even fricking legit segments on a coaching change at Georgia, and Auburn, and then get about 15 minutes of fricking Tim Couch an the fricking hedges at Georgia even got its own segment.
No Leach interview, no Mumme interview, just Tim Couch and some former Kentucky QB from the 70s.
So then, with about 10 minutes left in the episode, I'm thinking, well I guess they'll maybe they interviewed Nutt and will touch on how he took over the team and got Them to 8-0 and played one of the most famous SEC games in the last 30 yrs.
Finally, after the segment was all about Tennessee and they spent forever on them finally beating Florida in 98 with Tee Martin, they get to the Arkansas game. No mention of them being undefeated undefeated and no interview with Stoerner, Nutt, nobody.
They spent 1.5 minutes on the game.. That's it. They all laugh and thank the football gods for the fumble and then thats it. On to Fla. State and Tenn. Wins the title. End of epsiode.
Look, I wasn't expecting some epsiode filled with Arkansas stuff, but I figured they'd maybe just meybe get a little more airtime than 1.5-2 minutes. Instead, we got story's and games and coverage we've all seen 100 times before. I mean I know they're not a historical sec team but gosh damn. You're supposed to be telling the in-depth story of the league and gloss over expansion like it's nothing and then flash what is a top 10-15 sec since then. It was quite embarrassing.
I've been very against the notion for a long time, but we should really be in the Big 12.

This is what you pushed you over the edge? A documentary?

It won't happen but it would be better for the program. They won't do it because of the money though. Too shot sighted.
With winning comes money. Think Clemson

Then you'd be posting the exact same thread except with Texas and Oklahoma instead of Bama/Florida/Tenner

Didn't the big XII openly offer Arkansas a invite when they offered Tcu or was that just a bunch of speculation?

From an academic standpoint, it makes absolute sense to be in the Big 12.
The largest segments of out-of-state students are from Texas and Oklahoma.

I dont think we'd be all that much better in thr Big12 tbh

It wouldn’t matter what conference were in. We’ve been losing to mountain west Mac conference USA and sun belt opponents the past 8 years. We haven’t been having terrible seasons because we’re in the sec like dale and stone hog would like you to believe. We’ve been terrible because the team has had the absolute worst leadership and worst coaches that have ever walked the sidelines on the hill. And I do mean EVER. They make Houston nutt look good. Think about that. And before someone brags about nutt and says he shouldn’t have been fired It’s not that nutt was good it’s that he just wasn’t THIS bad.

I actually wouldn't care if we joined the Big12.
It'd be more attractive if the conference had remained more regional. West Virginia kinda killed that.
The Catch 22 for Arkansas is still that if we went Big12, it's likely a Big12 team would get our spot in the SEC, further downgrading the Big12 or blowing it up altogether.

I get that we say this as atkansas fans but come on.

I mean do people outside arkansas and tenner care about this game?
we need to accept that we have always been pretty irrelevant and everytime we went big we got beat or credit went elsewhere.

The 30 on 30 segment on Archie Manning, didn't cover the Ole Miss upset against #3 Arkansas in the Sugar Bowl. If I didn't know what a bad idea it would be to join a dying conference with Texas, then I'd be on board with joining the Big XII.

I don't know about that.

Dale has never claimed this.
Arkansas has recruiting in the top 30 of FBS schools the past 8 years, Arkansas has finished in the bottom 30 of FBS schools the majority of the this same time period.
Conference has nothing to do with that level of ineptness.
The big12 would be better/would have been better for the basketball program.
No one gives a frick about baseball except for one week of the year.

Arkansas would have had the 3rd ranked recruiting class in football last year. That same class made us 10th in the SEC.
I'd much rather be in the Big 12 personally. I'd rather play teams like Texas/OU/OSU/Tech, etc than Missouri, Kentucky, etc.

Your not understanding the issue though. Our recruiting isn’t why we’re losing. Missouri has way worse recruiting than us but has been a way better program over the past 8 years. If we were in the big 12 we’d be losing to Iowa state Oklahoma Oklahoma state tcu Texas and Baylor instead of bama LSU A&M Missouri and the Mississippi schools. I mean you can’t honestly think our recruiting is why we’ve been losing to teams like San Jose state and north Texas

Nope. All on coaching. We somehow have a culture of "We're the shite. We're an SEC school, and we're gonna obliterate them" and it's fricking mind boggling. Who tf came up with "club dub"? I mean seriously wtf? Not only is that the corniest shite I've seen in my life, it exudes loser mentality because we started it after a win over Colorado State. There should be absolutley 0 excessive celebration for a Group of 5 win and "club dub" is so insanely excessive after a win like that whoever came up with it should be fired, even if it was Chad himself.
