Could be. I actually like Coach O and would like to see him have his moment. Southern Cal shite on him because he didn't fit the Hollywood mold of a west coast head coach and he's had to earn everything he's achieved so far unlike the Willy Taggart's of the world that was given the world...

What LSU has done is make it more likely that the SEC gets two teams in. If LSU and Bama finish with one loss or less OSU and OU will have to be undefeated to get in.

They are looking really, really tough. Obviously they need to get past Alabama...but if they can do that, the sky is the limit.

I can't wait for the Bama-LSU game whoever wins the melt will be glorious

I haven't said LSU didn't look good or wouldn't be good--just stated you need to be balanced if you're going to get through your slate. I will say the same for UGA when it comes to the passing game.
We ran a lot of RPO. Joe took what he was being given, which was the pass. UT decided to see if Joe could beat them with his arm. They chose poorly.
Also, our stud freshmen RB’s will be acclimated over the next month.

I like that you broke down my comment like it was a game tape...play by play. Nice!
Losing to Texas in a bowl game is an embarrassment? Stop.
And plenty of writers have posted LSU as #1 in their rankings right now because they like the shiny new offense.
You can absolutely take what the defensive gives you, but if Alabama takes your passing game away, I'll give CEH 45 rushing yards this year since they have freshman LBs ;) but hey that's a 300% increase vs. last year's production.
Key stat in your UGA/LSU line...completion percentage. JF11s inability to extend drives hurt. We threw more than we needed to chasing points. It's actually a good example of why you need to be balanced. We started off with a good mix, taking shots down the field. Had solid success running the ball...then decide to become pass happy. JF11 had a rough day along with his receivers, all confidence lost, and then the box got stacked. Would play out similarly for anyone.
And 'doing your job' was in reference to LSU winning football games. Now unless, you play for LSU...then do your job and go win football games.

And if Burrow continues to capitalize on what the defense gives him, then we'll all sit back and watch LSU climb the rankings as the year progresses.
I will say the same thing about UGA if we handle business this weekend and next weekend vs. Notre Dame. Will that be an impressive win? Absolutely--but until we see more of a body of work from the entire landscape of college football, large jumps in the rankings shouldn't be talked about or assumed. And by large I mean 3-5 positions.
But hey, that's what these boards are for!

This is called trying to fill the pages with something. There so much that can happen between now and Dec when it comes to injuries, predicting anything right now for any team is just a WAG.

EXACTLY how I feel as a UGA fan. I could care less where we are ranked or projected right now. If we end up playing Bama we’ve had a good year - but until we beat them we haven’t taken the next step.

They’re a solid team.
That projection is no more/less valid than any other at this point.

I like how you go from this
to this
You act like Aranda didn't make defensive adjustments and suddenly took your running game away. It wasn't some big mystery why UGA stopped running and started passing, they thought they were taking what the defense was giving them.
Alas, Aranda wasn't giving them shite.

quote:Well how about throwing for 471 and rushing for 102? CEH actually averaged almost 6 yds per carry but JB was taking what they gave him.
lol these people need to pump the brakes. Had Burrow thrown for 350 and they ran for another 150...then I think we can have a conversation.
But Burrow being the entire offense and no run game to support him won't get him far once we hits the tough stretch of the season.
I know, I know...they have to keep the hype for the clicks.

If you say so my man. This was another example of Chaney being Chaney. We had a running game that was getting us to 3rd and manageables, which we apparently couldn't manage. But y'all were able to manage how many 4th down conversions?!
We were moving it effectively even without the threat of completing a pass over the top. And it wasn't because it wasn't there, we just didn't execute.
Make adjustments all you want, we just had poor decisions from the moment we decided to try and fake field goal when down by 3. Would have loved to see a better outing in Death Valley...but that's football.

Ed Orgeron had a simple explanation for a key defensive adjustment LSU made midway through the first quarter of Saturday’s thrilling win over Georgia in Tiger Stadium.
Orgeron smiled when the question came up.
The Bulldogs, on their second possession, had ripped off runs of 12, 18 and 17 yards on three consecutive plays — right after a holding penalty wiped out a 28-yard blast on the first play of the series. What did the Tigers do after that?
“We were playing one certain defense ... and it wasn’t working,” Orgeron said. “We changed to play another one and it worked; that’s all.”
Pressed about the nature of the change, the Tigers’ third-year coach flashed a bigger smile, making sure to keep the strategy under wraps but still having fun in the wake of No. 13 LSU’s 36-16 pasting of No. 2 Georgia.
“You really want to know everything?” he asked as reporters chuckled. “I’m gonna tell you. You ready? We were shaded one way and then we went and shaded another way.
“That was the change,” he added. “Shade to shade, baby.”
Actually, the Bulldogs didn’t know what hit them. Their offense wasn’t the same after that.
That means the Bulldogs, who were 16th in the FBS in rushing, netted just 52 yards and averaged 2.5 yards on their other 21 attempts — which was what defensive coordinator Dave Aranda needed to see.
“We just ... (Aranda) told Devin White to to get in the gap because they (were) just running the draw,” said White, who had a team-high 13 tackles on the afternoon. “We really hadn’t seen the draw.
“They just made it where I overtook the gap or (middle linebacker) Jacob Phillips overtook the gap, depending on what defense we were in, and we made the nose tackle go the opposite way, and we overtook it and made the play.”
How LSU slowed down Georgia's powerful run game with a simple adjustment
Shade to shade, baby!
But if want to think that your HC is just an idiot and decided he was having too much success running the ball, and so just decided to throw it, then maybe you should take it to this thread.
