How has UGA fared against Alabama since Saban took over?
Same as LSU....
Wrong.
Saban at Alabama is 5-1 (.833) vs UGA, and 10-3 (.769) vs LSU.

You would think with all that great adjusting you could score on Alabama.
LSU has never been shut out in Bryant-Dennys Stadium. I predict that will continue to be the case this year.

Has been beating bama and winning the west. Kirby had UGA’s best season in 40 years. Can the same be said about O?

Dude, this Richt/Kirby thing is so tiring...
Yeah, small little caveat there... Richt never played in a NC game and finished 3-4 (for playoff sakes) just a few times. And according to this article Richt's UGA makes the current CFP only twice (2002, 2005)
So if UGA intercepts one play on 2nd and 26 in OT (a game Richt never played in) and that somehow propels Smart way ahead of Richt? Does that honestly make a whole lot of sense to you?
In Smart's second year, mind you.

So far Smart has had much the same results as Richt did with the one caveat being the NC game.

Obviously if that was a win then I think Smart is clearly the bigger upgrade.

Against Auburn. LSU has to go through Alabama every year to even get to the SECCG.
Was Auburn not the outright champion of the West?

Yes, but even in a 3-way tie in 2017 between LSU-Auburn-Alabama, Auburn would've won the tie-breaker.
I'm really not sure why y'all can't see that it's harder to get through Alabama to get to Atlanta than anyone in the East - especially given UGA's record vs Saban at Alabama. Yes, Auburn did it in 17, but I'm not saying it's impossible, just harder.
Ultimately, Smart making it to Atlanta while O hasn't isn't a good comparison. Hell, it's not NEARLY as good as head to head, and with Smart making a ton of bone-headed mistakes while O takes him to the woodshed.

The only reason LSU isn’t in the playoff convo year in and year out is one thing...Alabama
You still would have been in playoff contention if your only loss was Bama the last two seasons. You’re conveniently leaving out your losses to MSU, UF, and A&M in conference the last couple seasons.

Funny how that works, isn't it?
You said look at the head to head for who is the better coach (unless I’m mistaken). I was pointing out why only using that is dumb.

Auburn wins that tie-breaker having the best cross-divisional wins in UGA and Mizzou (LSU beat UF and UT, Bama beat UT and Vandy).
I think this knocks bama out, and then it goes head to head, which LSU won.

No Bama West champion:
2018 - A&M
2017 - Auburn
2016 - 5-3 LSU
How exactly is Bama keeping LSU out of the playoff?

The same way they're keeping UGA from winning a national championship.

UGA during the resurgence of the SEC was definitely a power player under Richt, but he just didn't win a national title. You can say that is an unrealistic bar, but 4 other SEC teams did in that stretch, 5 if you go back to Tennessee.
So rivalry games, seccg, and playoff games do or don’t matter?
Ask Alabama how meaningful "a playoff game" is for 2018.
Rivalry games... seriously?
That's big, if you're not playing for anything else that season.
BCS (2 team playoff) started in '98, evolved to 4 team playoffs in 2014.
You're in the SEC. You claim to be in the "Big 6" of the conference. SEC teams have won the title 11 times in that span. Alabama 5 times, LSU and Florida twice apiece, Auburn once, Tennessee once.
That's winning the game that matters.

They weren't? Did they not win the tie breaker with Bama?

So the answer is they do matter, even according to you. Richt fell far below "not winning a national title" over his final 10 years, so its silly to equate him to Kirby at this point. That take is far too simple.
Richt struggled to finish top 25, didnt win the SEC, much less the weak SEC easts of 2014/15, and had major issues with UGA rivals, most notably Florida with bad periods of time vs UT and SC.

H2H is irrelevant to the topic. Would you say Troy is better than LSU? Kirby took UGA to a place richt never did. O hasn’t eclipsed Miles. I agree Miles set the bar much higher than Richt, but the question was who took the program further than the previous coach. It’s a fairly straight forward question with an easy answer. Not sure why LSU fans are so defensive about this. Kirby taking UGA further has nothing to do with O and everything to do with Richt underachieving.

You're right. The Bama game doesn't matter for LSU or the fact the you guys have lost 8 times in a row and had nothing to do with Les losing his job.
CMR lost SC in 2007 and 2014 and both those losses cost him the SECE and a shot at the SECC and a NC in 07.His only loss in '02 was to UF and kept UGA out of a NC game but you're right, rivalries don't matter.

Wow look at the LSU fan swinging his big dick with "NC's are the only thing that matters" narrative. So are you saying LSU didn't play in or win a game that "mattered" in the 60's,70's,80's or 90's?
Wow,who knew you had such high standards.

I can see this and agree, right now. But, fact remains we beat the West Champion. I mean, I don't know why you can't see that we are a force to be reckoned with. You can argue all you want that it is harder, but if you want to win a National Championship you, and we...will have to beat Alabama, or whoever wins the division. If you can't beat Alabama to win the west, then you certainly won't win the NC.
