What were your initial impressions? I know it’s hard to draw much vs that opponent but y’all put up 70 points
Quite the test this weekend

He was the #2 pro style QB prospect in the country out of HS.
He seems capable. He's a student of the game. Throws a really pretty ball and has a cannon for an arm.
6-3 220 true freshman that the players seem to have a great deal of confidence in. But who knows. We'll know more this time next week.

I believe his rant name is Helsinki.

It was only a FCS opponent, but still a college opponent. I watched for his poise early in the game: his understanding of the plays, his ability to make progressions and read the defense. His accuracy and whether or not he rushed his throws, or hung onto the ball too long.
He started out 12 for 12, so that pretty much answered most of those questions. He was hitting his targets mostly on the numbers - Bentley was well known for his wildness of accuracy especially early in games, and especially on long passes.
There were a lot of catches made by the taller receivers over the years Bentley was at QB - by TE Hurst, and WRs Edwards and OrTre Smith - where they made grabs by leaping and lunging at balls that were not really thrown at them, but near them. A number of times Bentley had bounced passes to targets, even when those targets were within 10-15 yds of him.
I didn't really see any of that from Hillinski against CHSO, so that was refreshing. But again it was a FCS opponent, and they weren't able to put any pressure whatsoever on Ryan the whole game. We made some changes on the OL after the UNC game - the Tarheels were able to pressure Bentley most of the game.
We'll know more against a better DL like Alabama, but with what sample size we have at this point, I was impressed with Hillinski, and think he will be a great one for us, as long as the staff doesn't screw him up.....

He’s good. Could be very good. I’m hoping for the best.
Could be our best qb since Shaw.
He’s getting slaughtered by Bama.

Thought we’d have a lot more Texas fans posting again with the open ended question in the title.

Crisp.
Was able to hit receivers in stride. Something Bentley was never able to do.

Kid is talented without a doubt....it is unfortunate he is getting thrown into the fire the way he is, but seems like it might be a similar situation jake was in....get thrown to the wolves early, get the experience, and have the years to grow. He is gonna be a good one soon without a doubt.

He looked great for a true freshman in his first start no matter the opponent. He has a very strong arm, was on target, and changed arm angles a few times and still hit them in stride. I know the team we played was garbage, but don't think his debut could've gone much better.
He did throw a pick and he's going to have his learning moments but he's got the potential to be a good one

He plays like Philip Rivers

I believe y'all said the same thing about Jake when he came on the scene and saved the day in another scrimmage against some team like CSU. Poor CSU has players that look like they should be in middle school.
He did look good though.

Sad story about his brother’s suicide and family dealing with it.
I just read an article about the mom saying she accidentally cheered for Tyler at first during game and then thought about them both being out there with Tyler being with Ryan on the field.

Every single thread ever posted on this site that remotely relates to USC has at least one Clemson troll in it.
No idea why y'all are jealous of USC, but you appear to be.

There isn't another good team on their schedule this year (yes I realize that includes us). I assume they're just bored.
It is unusual to see a team having so much success that still has a fanbase that acts like the little brother. Their obsession isn't just an internet thing either. I saw 3-4 people decked out in Clemson gear at our game Saturday. It was 100 degrees and we were playing Charleston Southern, why the hell would a rival fan want to be there?

They are obsessed and everyone else seems to see it except them.

What does UofSC have to do with UGA? Why are you in it?
Are you rivals now?
