Here is a link to a thread by GetCocky11:

Muschamp has a $22 million buyout if fired before the season ends

We also have to pay for that brick sh*thouse ops building we built because apparently that was the missing piece in the big picture (nevermind that we routinely get annihilated by teams without things like that).

Then you have to figure getting rid of Muschamp doesn't do much unless Tanner is shown the door first, and he has a golden parachute too.

So unless we are Auburn crazy this is it, unless either Muschamp and Tanner decide to move on of their own volition.

Thinking about it though, I might be ok with this. Lot of people throwing around lots of names.

But I'd rather be a loser than hire someone like Kendal Briles or Urban Meyer. You could buy a lottery ticket with a coordinator, and hope he is the next big thing. But for every Lincoln Riley there are more Jeremy Pruitts.

So what the heck, ride it out. No law says you have to go to the games or even watch it, if things get too putrid.

Maybe this blows over by 2021 or 2022. I hope to God though the Board of Trustees wil '86 any attempt by Tanner to extend his or Muschamp's contracts any further.

I wonder at what point this coaching bubble bursts? Firing after firing and buyout after buyout you’d think fanbases and states alike can only tolerate so much.

I have never understood how he gets head coaching jobs. He's a pretty good coordinator, but he sucks as a head coach.

Nothing wrong with that. Some people simply aren't meant to be head coaches.

8-4 or 7-5 should be the norm for USCe with a bowl each year. Anything more is a dream. The AD has to be smart with those other 3 OOC games for he needs 3 wins from those since beating Clemson ain't going to happen.

Why can't you pay him out? We keep hearing about these truckloads of SEC cash that you make and I would think 22 million is a drop in the bucket with as high on the hog as the U of SC is living in the SEC.

Also, Buyouts are usually done in installments and not a lump sum.

Just ride it out..They are used to being mediocre so what is another few years?

After a fanbase-rallying, come-from-behind win over CSU this weekend, Boom probably gets a 5 year extension.

Have you considered buying Muschamp a motorcycle?

Honestly I thought Jasmin was brought in to move things along.

Perhaps you could just keep changing out the assistants until you find out what Champs into.

You’re gonna get your wish Mullen could go 5-7 and he’ll still be our coach.

Even if we were in position to fire champ, they wouldn't do it during the season. It's not our thing. Brad Scott went 1-10 the year he was fired and didn't get the ax until after the season, even though it was obvious he was gone.

I've calmed down since the game. So much so, that I am thinking about the big picture.

And you know something? I'm sick of this crap. Sure Muschamp may not be as good a coach as some other people.

But look at the money we have tied up in him now. No one to blame for that but ourselves. And not just because it was a fool's deal, but because the whole thing is stupid.

We are spending this much on a football coach? For his assistants? Building that "Operations Center?" Constantly spending money on the Stadium?

Getting sick of the whole thing. I want off this ride, I don't want to be Alabama.

Know what you get if you live in Alabama, and Alabama wins the national title?

Not a damn thing. This stuff is strictly entertainment. And while opinions differ, I don't really think it is entertaining right now.
