Franks ceiling is 10 wins. Dude just makes some dumbass throws right after he just made a great throw. Reminds me of a post Spurrier Grossman.
Oline pleasantly surprised me with pass protection but they can’t run block worth a damn.
Can’t judge the running backs too much, they never got a hole to run through. Perine looked good on that TD grab.
Receivers looked good when they threw to them. Really good at blocking.
Dline looked great, secondary was meh and we can’t tackle worth a damn.
Looked good on special teams except for 2 plays. I believe we will always win that phase of the game under Mullen.
Play calling was puzzling. I loved the aggressiveness on 4th and the fake punt but I will never understand why we go away from Toney right after he puts the fear of God into the defense.
The refs were straight garbage tonight.
A win is a win is a win and I am happy. This is only the second time I have seen UF beat Miami in my life. I am a happy Gator tonight.
I hope a lot of the errors and miscues on the field were week zero first game jitters.
Go Gators

Looks like we need to pass the ball to open up the run just like last year . Seems like OL has been a big weakness for way to many year .

Oline was wonderful last year.

Toney may have gotten dinged up in the first half, which would explain why he was absent for the second.

Last year? They got 200+ rush yards a game.

We did play a rival in Week 0. Rivalry games are often shitshows even after a whole season. That was some of this... how much of it, I have no idea.

I am pretty frustrated but will take a win over scUM any day of the week and twice on Sunday!!!

Oline played well overall. We couldn't run because of the canes defense...period. It hurt us moving chains..and yes Toney was hurt in first half and so was #33 Reese ILB but he did come back some in 2nd half. A lot of hard hitting.
Refs were horrible and early in the second qt a long run by the canes down the right sideline was aided by a WR just about ripping Marcos # 3 jersey off him....never called.

We're all happy with the win, but this was piss poor.
Offense once again is a complete no show for another year. The offensive line wasn't a problem -- Franks had all day to read and make the right throws.
The running game suffered because we had no downfield threat -- sound familiar?
Imagine if we had a competent, cool and collected QB instead of wondering if we can hand the ball off cleanly.

I don’t understand you . You didn’t want Mac fired and you don’t blame Mullen for our offensive struggles . It’s all Franks fault . If you don’t want to see Franks play anymore then just stop watching his games .

Can’t tackle.
Can’t run.
shite Qb.
Stupid play calls.
Season in flames. But a win is a win!!!

OL played better than I thought they would.
Struggled with run blocking, which can improve, but why Mullen kept insisting on running right in the middle of Miami’s defense with their 3 senior LBs.
They gave Franks plenty of time to pass though.
How many sacks did Miami have tonight? I can remember 2 maybe?

Agreed...and run blocking is easier to improve than pass blocking

Miami's running backs
21 carries
132 yards
6.3 YPC
Florida's running backs
19 carries
38 yards
2.0 YPC
Our running backs don't suck. We need the OL to gel.
Miami has a good front 7 and I knew it would be tough sledding against them and we had 2 DT's out and another one with a season ending injury.
We did not accept yardage losses and tried to make great plays against DL pressure when we needed to secure the football and take the 2 yard loss or no gain. Miami had pressure on our 2nd and 3rd possessions of the game and caused 2 fumbles because we didn't secure the ball. Once it was a RPO and Fransk and the RB fumbled the exchange, another was Malik Davis trying to pick the ball up and run with it after fumbling the pitch instead of covering it.

Half of Miami’s running yards came on that long wildcat TD.
They really didn’t do anything.
If UF could tackle properly, I don’t see anyway Miami should’ve scored more than 10 points.

So they still had twice as many yards as we did.
I am just saying they moved it a little bit and we didn't move it at all on the ground.

You guys never want to hear this, but a lot of this is on the QB. Franks missed easy passes multiple times that would have 100% moved the sticks. He's also back with his timidity of running the ball, he still can't do the read option -- he severely limits what we can do on offense.
How do you call an offense for someone who struggles with checkdowns and doesn't have the instincts to run?
The OL did fine pass blocking, there was plenty of time for Franks to throw and often times he was just sitting there waiting for the play to open.
In the end, if we want to be successful, we have got to get a QB who can consistently throw the ball downfield and at least stretch the defense out. Running into loaded boxes is what killed Muschamp and McElwain.
