Alabama Suspects Ole Miss Was Stealing Signals (BOL)
It would not have made a difference. Kiffin exploited us in the middle with his TEs like the other two teams. Not that hard to see film and pick up on where we are weak. Also does not matter if we look like we have lead in our shoes, missed tackles, and blown assignments.

I have Android as well. Simply scrolling down reading an article loads up as 2o different pages in my history.
Which app do you use?

Chrome is my browser. If I click on one of the article links (I've posted here), it automatically opens in a new tab and one back click will close that tab. But, if you scroll down to the next article, it becomes the current URL for that tab, so you'll have to close that tab to get out of it with one click.

Everything Nick Saban said after Alabama's win at Ole Miss (BOL | transcript & video)
Saban and his defensive staff have more issues to fix than is possible in one week. So first and foremost, fix poor fundamentals. The #1 priority is good tackling -- being in the right position, pursuit speed and angle, technique and intensity, finishing tackles and gang tackling. How players practice has the greatest influence on how they play. So do full-throttle tackling to the ground in practice (vs scout team) and tell all D players the best tacklers in practice this week will play vs UGA. If everyone playing is consistently tackling well, we can beat them.

Understatement of the year.

Time to tell Moses that until he gets his head out of his arse, McMillon is starting at Mike.

Don’t see that being an upgrade at all

Josh is a full step slower than Moses. So, uh, not a great idea.

The thing that was so shocking to me last night was the lack of effort. Our defense looked like they were loafing around not giving effort at all. The play where Ealy nearly ran for a first down on third and 27 was beyond unacceptable. Our defense needs a come to Jesus meeting and set up shop at the football complex this week. Otherwise, Georgia will run us out of Bryant Denny on Saturday. Alabama needs leadership, both with players and coaches, to take ownership of that side of the ball.

Chris’s Fallica or something

Teams are 9/22 on 3&8 or longer against us......I honestly thought it was worse than that

Alabama doesn't have great players on defense.
1=average 2=good 3=elite
31=2 4=1 92=1 94=1 48=1 47=1 58=1
32=1 8=1
13=1 9=1 29=1 28=1 2=3 (maybe)
31 and 8 are just a notch above waht 35 and 8 were last year and that ain't mutch.

You don’t need “great” players to show effort or to tackle. Talent is far from the issue with this defense.

if you judge by what most recruiting gurus thought and who most big time college programs including Nick Saban recruited out of high school, Alabama's defense is loaded with elite players. If they weren't developed at UA then whose fault is that? If they don't know their assignments, whose fault is it? If they aren't aggressive because they're confused, whose fault is it? If they are average, whose fault is it?

There's more talent on the defense now than what we had in 08
Difference is the coaching, the fundamentals and the hustle

Need help here guys... not gonna be tv accessible saturday evening. What sort of steps do I have to take to watch this via CBS or other streams that aren't terribly delayed. Thanks in advance!

Definitely more talent but the 2008 team played with a purpose. The program had been down for a long time and they were ready to prove people wrong. The past two years have been hard to watch. Obviously offenses have progressed a lot since 2008 but the the effort and coaching has been lacking. Injuries played a part of the issues the past few years but we seem to be pretty healthy by comparison now.

This defense is stacked with blue chip kids. All 4-5 star cream of the crop that everyone wanted. Many of them have experience now too. No excuse for the product on the field. None at all. This ultimately falls at Saban’s feet. He’s the HC, he’s the one making ungodly amount of money to win, he hired project no name DCs that have been massive failures, and it’s his job to fix it now. Not next year, not in the off-season, now. Find solutions and make it work in the present. This defense should be MUCH better than they currently are.
