On a side note, what a great opportunity for Ford and KRob to make a move for that 3rd back.

Ford should be a solid #3 RB, but it does seem fairly likely Townsend could move to RB since Keilan Robinson isn't quite back to 100% yet. Bolden could be another option to get reps at RB if needed.

ETA: After what Saban said about today's scrimmage, it sounds like Keilan's speed and elusiveness are back to normal -- excellent.

Hear me out...but I don’t think it’s a shoe problem. I TRULY believe it’s a kids not drinking milk anymore problem. They just don’t do it anymore, at least not like we used to growing up. We have kids break legs/arms/ ankles/collarbones at the middle school level with very little contact.

I also think a lot of the leg problems come from changing the tackling philosophy. When you eliminate the head, and start hitting lower...more and more leg/foot injuries will naturally occur.

Not drinking or eating pasteurized and homogenized dairy products has no adverse affects on health, including bones and teeth. It's actually very beneficial to your health to eliminate them from your diet.

High heat used to pasteurize and homogenize milk crystalzes the calcium, whereby it cannot be metabolized to benefit bones and teeth. Some of it ends up getting deposited in crystal form in joints causing arthritis.

Pasteurized and homogenized dairy products also cause mucous to line intestinal walls which interferes with nutrient absorbtion. A calf cannot even drink it without getting sick. They also cause respiratory tract mucous and contribute to inflammation throughout the human body.

There's no good reason to pasteurize and homogenize dairy products. It's done to increase the shelf life. The USDA and FDA are corrupt.

There are much healthier sources of calcium and vitamin D. However, pure whey protien, which is extracted from raw milk, is the ideal protein for all mammals. A daily smoothie with whey protein is one of the best things you can do for your health, especially if you wash down a fish oil gel cap with it.

Worst thing about this wonderful game of College Football.
Just cannot avoid these crippling afflictions.

Fair point. To which I would ask...Are they pumping calcium and Vitamin D into chicken McNuggets and 64oz Cokes? Maybe we’re isolated here with the injuries. Just see it almost every single game. Someone breaks a leg it seems. We had a local HS scrimmage last night with 5 games consisting of 2 15 minute halves. At least one leg injury where the kids on the field said his leg was “Backwards”.

Idk, just an account of what I’m seeing.

The Standard American Diet (SAD) leads to all kinds of health problems, including weak bones and joint tissues.

A good general rule of thumb is to minimize processed foods. Shop the outer aisles of the grocery store. The healthy foods are the ones that aren't messed with. Mother Nature (the good Lord) gave us everything we need on this planet to be healthy.

The food processing industry just fricks it up, puts in a package for you and profits. And depite the fact that proper diet, exercise and natural remedies address the root causes to prevent and cure health disorders, the pharma and sick care industries treat the symptoms -- and the side affects cause more health problems and create more profit.

It's all very corrupt -- legalized crime on a grand scale. The US government isn't watching out for the people, it's watching out for the powerful special interests who own our government.

A'ight. I'm done and off my soap box now.

Yes, Townsend is likely a RB again. I hear you on Bolden and he could do it, but I think we're planning on getting him touches at WR in 2019.

Alabama scrimmage report: Notes from first rehearsal By Michael Casagrande | casagrande@al.com
quote:

On a humid afternoon in Tuscaloosa, the first scrimmage of Alabama’s preseason is underway.

This is the first of two game simulations this August with another set for next Saturday. Here’s a quick taste of what we observed in the abbreviated media viewing period:

-- Running back Trey Sanders was not out there for a second straight day. AL.com first reported Saturday morning that the five-star freshman would likely miss the full season with a foot injury suffered Thursday.

-- There were no new additions to the running back group or players moving over. Chadarius Townsend worked with the running backs in the spring before moving back to receiver in August. He was still in the receivers’ group Saturday for warmups.

-- Defensive lineman D.J. Dale was also absent again. An update on his status is expected from Nick Saban after the scrimmage.

-- Should Dale miss any extended time, Phidarian Mathis would be the nose tackle who would step into his first-team role.

-- On the recovery front, tight end Miller Forristall was in full pads and looking ready to go after missing the first few practices of August with a foot injury.

-- Forristall and senior Giles Amos were the first two tight ends in line followed by Major Tennison and Michael Parker. The third group included Cameron Latu and freshman Jahleel Billingsley.

-- Saban will be up after the scrimmage to give his thoughts on the affair. Stay tuned to AL.com for more from that.

I'm the same way. I'm sure that he's a good guy, but I don't care for him. 90%of his articles have, "..... told to yours truly". He just annoys me and I'm sure that I nitpick things about him

Seen a rumor that Ford had a 60 yard TD against the first team. Can anyone confirm?
