I've given you the facts. AP titles are literally the definitive measure of a true title pre-BCS. Sorry you can't accept that, get out of Arkansas once in a while. You're the one having to bring up dumb shite like track and women's golf bc you have no real point to make

That's kind of dumb, since UCLA plays in the Rose Bowl and a National Championship has been crowned in the Rose Bowl.
The elite should be how it is determined.
Football-Playoff
Baseball-Omaha
Basketball-Final Four
Or if you want to make it really exclusive go with a National Championship, period. The only reason people want to pick and choose the criteria is to include their favorite team while excluding as many other teams as possible.

You can use it if you want to, but the AP "Poll" consisted of one man's opinion for awhile. That is hardly definitive. There were other polls that were looked at more favorably in the early days of the AP Poll. Even when the AP changed to sports writers, they didn't see the top teams as most games were not televised.
I get the point of the thread, though, and would rather just say, "Congratulations to Auburn for having an excellent year in sports."
