I think what happens most of the time is things like cars are loaned or leased or whatever. It's by far one of the easiest ways to give a pat on the back and do it through legal channels that nobody can't ever really nail down specifically as a "benefit" that you couldn't argue another non football player could get.

Then after they leave it's just forgiven or paid off or whatever. Honestly probably the most prevent and easy to do thing left in cheating outside of hundred dollar handshakes.
