Sexton and Garland have both played PG their whole career,

Sexton didn't play PG until his senior year of HS

who have been elite at PG

Sexton was a top player who played at the PG position. He is not an elite playmaking point guard but a top scorer

Putting Sexton off ball where he can be set up better and handle the ball in mismatch situations would be ideal

Sexton is a lot more proven than Garland, Sexton made the NBA all rookie team as a PG.

Garland looked good in most of his 5 college games vs Kent State, Alcorn State, Liberty, Savannah State, and Winthrop but I wouldn't quite count on him supplanting Sexton as PG. They will probably handle the ball a pretty similar amount, if Garland lives up to his hype.

I agree that playing off ball suits Collin’s game now but if he’s going to stick in the league he’s gotta develop as a PG right?

Maybe he can develop alongside Garland. I hope so.
