“We’ve got some really good athletes,” Oats said. “We’ve got to do a lot of work on their skill development because we’re going to play basically four out, one in and we played even a lot of five out. Our centers could shoot three back there, so we’ve got a lot of work cut out if we’re going to get to that level on some of them. I think we’re going to start with the four out.

“Kira Lewis -- really, really talented at a high level. I think he’s perfect. I just went through an hour of video with him this morning before class … of just how he would fit in our system. We open the floor up, we give you a lot of space, we get downhill, we set a lot of pick-and-roll stuff real similar to spread stuff in the NBA. The floor’s going to be open for him to make plays, so we’ve got to put shooting around him.

“(John) Petty’s a great shooter. We’ve got to get him a little bit better going off the dribble. Think Herb (Jones) is unbelievable coming downhill at the rim, but he didn’t have a lot of space like we play with. He’s going to be great with that. We’ve got to develop his shooting. Petty’s got to get a little bit better handle on it, Herb’s got to get better shooting it. We want guys that can pass, shoot and handle at all positions on the perimeter.”
