I dont think both Shack and Primo start. Especially when Petty returns.
I would hate having to stick one of them on the bench. I know Primo is very highly rated but I think Shack absolutely earned a starting role. Going to be some tough decisions to be made if we actually end up with a deep roster.

Shack will definitely not start over Primo. I’d play both. Shack at the 2 and Primo at the 3.

What if Petty comes back? Then, which one do you have coming off the bench?

Yale graduate transfer Jordan Bruner is down to Baylor, Maryland and Alabama, per my young friend @TylerDeLucaTV. The 6-foot-9 forward who averaged near a double-double will be a major addition to one of these schools.

Yale graduate transfer Jordan Bruner has announced his top three teams. Baylor, Maryland, and Alabama. The forward averaged 10.9 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.8 assist last season for the Bulldogs. The 6’9” forward will be a pivotal starting piece for whichever school he chooses.

Getting a guy like Bruner really would change the trajectory of next year's team. Pay that man if we have to.

Absolutely - would be huge

Ok obviously the guy is pretty good, but I get a little nervous about putting so much stock into grad transfers from mid majors or small schools. I haven’t delved deeply into his stats or watched any film on the guy. It’s evident the staff thinks he can work here but I’m asking you guys. How much P5 competition did he face and how did he fare? The Ivy League ain’t the SEC. Beetle even transferred from a good P5 school and was rather Meh! for what we were expecting. Are we asking too much for a guy from Yale or New Mexico or Stony Brook?

Sacred Heart guard Koreem Ozier is in the NCAA Transfer Portal, per a source. Averaged 14 PPG and made 60 three-pointers on the season.

I'll look up the stats for you
Points/Rebounds/Assists
OK. St. - 6/9/3
Penn state - 8/9/2
Clemson - 10/13/2
North Carolina - 17/15/5
So for the 4 high major teams he faced this year, his lowest rebounding total was 9. We need a post player that can rebound and he checks that box. He always has high level passing ability as shown by nearly 4 assists a game. Him being at 32% 3 point shooter and 76% free throw shooter is just a huge bonus with his skillset.
I don't think any of us are expecting him to come in and average 15/10, but his skillset is exactly what the team needs in regards to style of play. He's the prototype for what I think Oats wants.

Seriously. Let's back up money trucks with Alpha Phis if we have too.

Obviously Baylor and Maryland are both way better teams and will likely go far in the NCAA tournament next year. I think our biggest draw would be that a starting spot is there for the taking. That might be the case at both Maryland and Baylor...not sure on that.
Looking at KenPom, here's where the three teams stand in adjusted tempo:
Bama - 4
Baylor - 277
Maryland - 245
For reference, Yale was 227 this past season.
If he wants to stay in a similar pace of play, we aren't the right choice. If he wants to play in an up-tempo style, we are the no brainer option.

Here, I’ll make you feel more comfortable. It would push Galin and/or Reese off the team.
Nate Oats, pay whatever is necessary, I’ll even chip in.

Where did Arkansas, Gonzaga, and Louisville rank? Those are the three teams he just cut.

I agree but I think my old arse could push Galin off the team. That ain’t saying much.
Posted on 3/31/20 at 11:55 am to phil4bama
I will say I think our offense would better allow him to showcase his passing and shooting skills better than the rest. And I’d have a hard time believing he could step in and start anywhere as easily as he could in Tuscaloosa.

Well, he looks like he could run the court. Maybe the first
cut had to do with guaranteed starting lineup. Or maybe we did line Will Wade, and made a strong arse offer.

Great news on making Bruner's final cut, I said the other night it would probably come down to us or Baylor.
