Duke and UNC are 100% above Kentucky.
More prestigious schools, better programs, better basketball conference.
That’d be great bait if Kentucky hadn’t won more National Championships than both by multiple coaches and wasn’t the winningest program in college basketball. I’ll give you the conference but the SEC isn’t far off if they can keep up the last two year trend.

I would say it is at least a top 3 job.

Kentucky has won titles with 5 different head coaches. No one else compares.

Really odd to see Texas on so many lists. I quit watching college basketball around 20 years ago and Texas was never relevant before then. The only decent basketball school in the State of Texas used to be Houston.

I agree with you, but i think the inclusion of TEXAS by some posters was to rile up aggy.

KU, UNC, Duke, and UK are interchangeable at the top. All 4 could get anyone they wanted.
UCLA, not so much.

Question from a non-hoops aficionado:
What ever happened to Indiana?
Weren’t they world-beaters under Bobby Knight?
Seems like I don’t hear much ‘bout those kids any more.
Am I wrong?

No... just NO. UCLA Duke UNC Kentucky Kansas Errbody else.
I would agree besides UCLA . I don’t think UCLA is in the top tier with UNC , Duke , Kentucky and Kansas.
This thread is why if we expand the conference we need to go for Kansas, UNC and Duke .

Off the top of my head I would say Duke, UNC, UCLA, LSU, and Texas.
Good grief...

I'm not sure what happened because they haven't been relevant in my lifetime. Only made it out of the first weekend 4 times since I was born, and I'm almost 25

They fell off after Knight was ran off and just had a bad string of coaching hires. Sampson getting in trouble hurt any post-Knight momentum. They tried too hard to hire the anti-Knight after the fact.
I do think eventually they’ll be alright under Miller but he’s going to have to set up a fence around the state again (especially Indy) to keep those guys home to get it done. The Romeo Langford experiment went poorly for them.

No Mich State or Villanova?

Without question. Tradition, great fan base, money, top notch facilities. Kentucky is the standard.

Indiana only has 2 more Final Four appearances then Arkansas and 1 came after Nolan retired. However, they made the championship game in 6 of their 8 appearances, and won 5 of them, compared to our 1.

Kentucky, Kansas, and UNC are the top three jobs in America. These programs have already sustained sucess at the previous blueblood level after a legend has gone. Duke is a blueblood no doubt but it is almost exclusively tied to coach K, much like Indiana with Knight. I imagine that Duke will take a small step back once K is gone.
IMO right now...
1. Kentucky
2. Kansas
3. UNC
4.Duke
5.UCLA
6.Louisville/Arizona/Michigan State

I agree, but there was a time I'd have said the same with UNC and Dean Smith.
