He should take the job. It would be a move to a more historic and better program.
Kentucky just can’t win anymore.

Cal isn't leaving for another school. If anything it's his agent getting him another raise.

A yearly tradition like no other. Calipari interest in XX job.

Aside from $ (assuming they could overbid KY which I'm not sure?) why else would he go there? Or is there a reason to leave KY for UCLA that I'm not considering? I realize they have an elite history but so does KY...
isn't UCLA pretty cheap with regards to paying coaches? Calipari makes over $9MM/year currently. This sounds like Nick Saban to Texas bullshite. No way Kentucky lets anyone outbid them. Next thing we'll see is Kentucky giving him another raise.

You mean to tell me schools aren't breaking down the door to hire Will Wade right now?

Who would Kentucky go after?
Everywhere Calipari has gone, once he left then there goes NCAA coming to that school

LOL at the notion of him leaving UK for UCLA.
They been smoking too much weed out there.
0% chance

I doubt he leaves. He is probably using this unique opportunity, with the opening of a job that he does like, to get a fat raise at UK and and big boost from Nike.

Maybe living in LA appeals to him more than Lexington? Possible, you think? He seems more like an LA/New York person.

Lifestyle would be night and day comparing the two locations.

Personally, I’d be surprised given Brad specifically redshirted this season so he could play his last year of grad school under his Dad. And while Cal may love the lights, I don’t know that Ellen does. I think he’d leave for the NBA before we would another NCAA school.
Now if the Lakers open up with Davis potentially headed there and he was offered, that’d be another story.

Well Uk did hire Billy G

No one with any sense will go to the Lakers as long as LeBron is there.

Buyout is $30 million. You think UCLA is paying that? Cal is a genius to get his name out there.

Rumors like these for Cal happen every year, however, it wouldn't totally surprise me if he up and left, it would probably means something bad happened at UK and we all know how he left his previous 2 schools.
Tired take. The idea that Cal up and runs because the big bad NCAA is bearing down is fake news. He left UMass for the NBA. That’s a pretty big jump. He left Memphis for Kentucky because the job came open and was offered. It’s Kentucky. He’s called it his dream job. Blue blood gigs don’t open up every other day.

i have no idea what his buyout is if he leaves for another job, but i have a feeling that 30 million number is only the buy out for him to be fired
Posted on 3/20/19 at 6:14 pm to WestCoastAg
I don’t think he even has a buyout if he decides to leave.
