TIFWIW, but there are some pretty strong rumblings in BTR that Will Wade is in the process of being reinstated as HC and Joe Alleva has been bought out of his contract (Alleva only has a little over a year left on contract)

Why is it taking so long?
This part, most likely

and Joe Alleva has been bought out of his contract
Alleva has been on a run of painfully awkward and miscalculated blunders, going back to the initial move to fire Miles in 2015. He has embarrassed the University and undermined LSU's reputation. The way he handled the Wade situation is just the last straw.

To move on Alleva, you have to first line up the BOS and other important people, so the actual termination is quick and decisive. And you have to have several viable options to put in his place, before you move, so the situation doesn't fester any further out of control. This needs to be done cleanly, to start restoring the athletic department.

Orgeron was recently politicking with the Governor, I think he knows what's up and is trying to ensure he has support before the next guy comes in.

I would guess Alleva has a far better grasp of what should’ve been done than the rando on Tigerdroppings. Y’all can caterwaul and moan all you want, but he had virtually no choice but to suspend the coach.
