I did not know that Florida fans do not attend baseball games. They certainly show up for softball games and a bunch of other sports, so this is confusing to me.

As of 2017 (it's actually been this way since 2013) Florida has the 2nd lowest amount of native residents of any state. It's a travel-to state bud. 20.2% of the population in the state wasn't even born in the United States. I can link you the census if you want to look for yourself.
Sounds like a desirable place to live.

It's cute that y'all try to keep up with the big boys of baseball stadiums. In all seriousness, it's always good to see other SEC schools step up their baseball facilities
Kind of like you guys with your football digs.

Nah, I'm not his keeper. He threw a jab and so did you.

We're a baseball and women's basketball school.

Florida fans do attend baseball games. Just not as many as lsu fans and arky fans think should attend.
It's a damn sauna there with no shade. The old stadium was sterile and not a great atmosphere.
It is what it is. Should be much better.

Yeah it's bad. Major design oversight ESPECIALLY in Florida. Not just for the sun but for the amount of rain you get almost daily.

What’s the capacity going to be, 1000-1500?
Posted on 2/11/19 at 2:50 pm to bigDgator
We averaged over 4k last year which was top 15 and I think if the new place is as nice as we hope with lots of shade, we can get it up to 5k and be top 10.
Article says capacity will be 7k.

To be fair, a lot of people use that joke during baseball season

I imagine you fill it up fairly easily for your first conference series. Whether it sustains is tbd. The program certainly deserves it but the state doesn't have a good rep with the sport.

I don't disagree with this at all. FSU has pretty good baseball support, but they have had Martin forever. I think we will do better and we seem to really have good support for our softball girls, so I think we will for the boys too.
Some more renderings. Doesn't look like enough shade imo. But what do I know.

Doesn't Miami usually get a pretty decent following when they're good too? I know they aren't exactly rabid but I seem to remember Miami fans showing up if there was something to cheer for.

You sit in that lava fueled stadium from hell for 4 hours for a noon start in late May.

That joke is far more appropriate for us than Florida.
