Yes I agree with you. I live in the Upstate of South Carolina about an hour from Charlotte and followed a good bit of the UNC scandal through the Charlotte Observer. You are correct they had some NCAA issues but there biggest issues was in what they called African and Afro-American Studies department. SACS did give them a year probation and the Governor, cant remember his name, did find the department was pretty much a sham. With that said some of their issues were not really in the scope of the NCAA guide lines because basically any student could take those classes from that department.

I don’t understand much about accreditation, as in anything really. It sure seems like that would at least cause a more extensive look beyond just that department. Especially when the governor says that department was basically a phony. I guess maybe they didn’t want to find any other problems.
