How can you use youngest team in country as an excuse? This isnt year 1 or 2 or some shite to where hes forced to play young guys because the old coach didnt have any decent players (i.e. our football team) him not having players ready is on him! Its year 8 he doesn't get that excuse because he knew he was losing those guys last year and shouldve recruited accordingly before this last season. And its basketball youth isnt an excuse anyway lots of teams win with freshman and sophomores. The bottom line is idc if we overperform from what the experts predicted if we dont make it to the sweet 16 he should go. Hes had his time and If the team is too young or needs more time that's on him too. Mike can pack his suitcase! /endrant

I'm glad they got the win. Texas State is a good ball team. They came into the game 10-1. Teams that win 10 of their first 11 games are good. Teams like that can give freshmen laden teams like ours big trouble.

It's unbelievable to me that fans can't see these things.

Didn't we have like 6 guys graduate last year? There's only 13 scholarships available, not sure how you avoid being young replacing half your team.

My personal favorite is all the people last year saying
"Can't wait for Beard to graduate"
"Can't wait for Thompson to graduate"

Flash forward to next season when all the guys graduated like they wanted

MIKES FAULT WE'RE YOUNG!

This year, it's:

I can't wait for Bailey to graduate.
I can't wait for Gabe to transfer.
Gafford plays like a soft bitch.

You don’t get to use it as an excuse when your team full of seniors was a 7 seed and got destroyed in the first round

Not really an excuse, just how it works.

You don't get to bitch and complain wanting guys to graduate, then bitch the next year about being young.

Speaking of wanting people to graduate. I have never wanted someone to graduate as much as i have santos, and Cornelius. Is it possible the next guy's can be as bad? I doubt it. I do know i wanted eric bennet to graduate, and next thing i know we trot out his clone Josh liddell

Yes, I can't wait for Colton Jackson to not be in a Hog uni anymore. They should have kicked his bitch arse off the team for his lack of effort.

With Sosa's support of Dee Walker episode, he's quickly climbing the ladder well.

Add Kamren Kurl as well with him getting suspended and then supporting Dee Walker as well.

Others i wouldn't mund being sent packing include Randy Ramsey. Just get all of the fricking snowflakes off the roster.

This is looking at it in tunnel vision. People's problems with Mike extend much further than this season. This is the same inconsistent performance with the same exact problems we've come to expect from every iteration of his rosters here.

3 top 25 teams in 17 years coupled with never having a losing season is the perfect way to describe Mike. He'll never be awful and he'll never be great. The clash happens when people remember that this program can be great and want a coach that can make that happen again. Idk about you but I'm tired of visiting media only talking about how good we USED to be. Is there any reason our basketball program shouldn't mirror our baseball program's strength? We have the pedigree, the history, and enough local talent to sustain ourselves at a top level. Why can't we even put together a top 25 team?

I don't think there's anyone here that would dispute that 8 years is more than enough time for a basketball coach to get a roster put together. If he hasn't done it by now, I'm not convinced he's going to.

I'm not going to apologize for Mike taking 8 years to build a good team. Only an idiot would argue that it takes that long to build a basketball team.

What I will say though is that I think he is a good coach and I think he finally does have a really good team. Time will tell who's right in all this. But I'm pretty confident that most of all of this bickering will be gone by the time tNCAA rolls around.

This is a sweet sixteen team. If we don't make it that far, I'll be pretty upset. But between then and now it doesn't make much sense bitching about all of this because Anderson ain't going anywhere between now and then. And when we do make a tournament run this year, all but the most agenda-driven of us will be anxiously awaiting next season.

I truly hope so. I see the potential but I also see regression. Lord knows I want these piglets to hit SEC play and smack the whole conference in the mouth, I just can't bring myself to bet on that result given the history during his tenure.

To be honest my frustration lies much within his approach in recruiting. You see all of these people calling for bagmen for the football team, but we're supposed to praise Mike while he watches UK, Duke, Florida and other distant programs come into the state and pluck the best talent we have to offer and leave us with what's left every year because he's a "good guy" and "does it the right way"? To be honest I just want someone that will lock down this state. I don't care if all it takes is Mike changing his mentality or us hiring the sleaziest suit we can find. This tiny state produces an unreal amount of basketball talent for the population. Securing these borders would be all it takes to make us a yearly threat in the conference. An elite recruiter could field a team with an insane amount of homegrown talent and those teams are the ones that play the hardest and stay longer. Too much talent leaves this state on a yearly basis for my tastes.
