Reaction of people, who have been in a coma since the SEC championship game last year.

I say make Bruce Pearl the football coach leading up to the Iron Bowl. It couldn't possibly be a worse outcome.

I respectfully disagree that they're a better football team. They should be 6-4 if not for the refs gifting them the game against Missouri, and they've been looking worse and worse since A&M. At worst, I think they're even.

They would beat us by 2 scores. They have a good defense, an athletic QB, better coaching, and an established running game. We got beat by Tennessee.....at home.....let that sink in.

Tennessee 24
Kentucky 7
Oops.
And don’t come in here acting like the game being at Neyland changes things

We would've been beaten worse in Neyland.
Kentucky beat the crap out of Miss. State. Remind me, how did we fair against them?

You’re the one using the UT loss as evidence that we would lose to UK.
Not great evidence when UK got beat worse.
FWIW, I don’t know if we beat UK but they’ve been vastly overrated all year and I think you’re overrating them.
Also, I think if we played UT again this year in Neyland, we would win. Only reason they won the first time is Stidham throwing the ball directly to them

We had what, 2 touchdowns taken away? Lost by 14. Still should have won.

No.
Kentucky sucks in football. They were not even competitive against UGA at home in literally their biggest home game ever. Their win against Mizzou was the biggest fluke of the year by far in the SEC. Mizzou literally gave them the game. Kentucky is a 6-4 football team against a weak schedule. Washington would beat both beat them by 20 and AtM would beat them worse if they played again, and in case you forgot we beat both of those teams.
UK will be a top 5ish basketball team by tourney time as well.
Wrong on both counts.

Well, after reading that I'm thinking Kentucky is better in basketball AND football.

We started the season as a supposedly legitimate contender for the CFP. Now we're arguing whether our losses to MSU and Tennessee necessarily mean we're worse than Kentucky.
frick you Gustav. You're dead to me.

Do you want Gus to get an extension this year?

Before you ask, here's what I said last year when this subject came up:
quote:Lots of insight into this forums opinion of the basic extension terms that Gustav eventually signed in this thread.
I like Gustav, and I think he's a very good HC who has the potential to be great - but he's not there yet, and there's a chance he won't ever get there.
Outside of a couple of posters, the overwhelming majority - myself included - said we should let him go rather than pay him ~$50 million over 7 years with a huge buyout.
Too bad the PTB didn't consult us.

No worries.
I have been a Gus apologist over the past 5+ years. I really wanted to believe he had turned the corner last year, even after the SECCG and bowl losses, and that he recognized his obvious deficiencies and was addressing them.
It appears I was being overly optimistic. Dude acts like he doesn't have a clue what's wrong, or how to fix it.
I do not have a good feeling about 2019, other than AU admins will have more than enough evidence that he's not worth what we are paying him, and (hopefully) that Greene is already making ovations to potential replacements with the idea that he will have to be bought out in another 12 or 13 months.
It is what it is.
