Talent wise and even position group wise the teams match up well. SC has had a bye week while we just got through getting beat up by Alabama. They also get their only pass rusher back but who knows how good or bad he is given that he's been out since game 1.

SC is under even more pressure than we are to win this game if they want to go bowling but we don't have much room to maneuver if we lose it either. It's a night game so that definitely gives them home field advantage but Auburn had home field advantage too.

It's definitely winnable but odds slightly favor USC. I'd be much happier if we hadn't had the BAMA game while they were enjoying a bye. Hopefully, the fact that they scheduled us for homecoming fires our guys the hell up.

Agreed. This is a big game for both programs (for different reasons entirely) and what I feel like is really the start to our season in terms of becoming bowl eligible.

I hoped that we would be 3-4 at this point with how tough our schedule was on the front end. I thought we would have beaten UF and lost to AU though.

This is a game South Carolina deserves to be the favorite in imo, but I'm not very impressed with the job Muschamp has done in year 3 of their rebuild. They should be favored with the bye week and it being a night game, but this is a winnable game for the VOLS imo. Tough, but winnable.

Quote from a poster on VQ who lives in South Carolina and has been reliable in bringing good info regarding USC the last few years to the board. Heres what he had to say:

quote:

Carolina has struggled this year. The State newspaper from Columbia selected the place kicker as the offensive MVP for the first half of the season. They are last in the SEC in turnover margin. Bentley was booed in their game against A&M. It might have been aimed at the wide receivers who dropped numerous balls. It is bewildering since they led the SEC last year in TO margin and have most everyone back. They have gone to an up tempo offense under new OC McClendon. It has clearly not been the answer. But they do have excellent receivers in Samuels and Edwards.

On defense, they lack a significant pass rush. They play hard and aggressively but don't have any all SEC types.

He's good to go per Pruitt.

I'm 50/50 with this game as I am with the rest of the SEC games on the schedule. I think it just depends on who shows up. Will we be the team from UF or Auburn? All the teams are beatable so if we don't come out and put ourselves behind with turnovers and stupid penalties then I think we win.

For sure. VOLS could easily lose out (sans charlotte) and I wouldn’t be surprised. I do think these guys are getting better, just not a ton of talent to work with.

Pruitt hinting that Banks might actually see playing time at LB this Saturday.

Given the fight and progress the team has made over the season I see the remaining games outside of the cupcake to be toss ups, but if the progress continues I would make us favorites near the end. We need some big uglies on the lines. If JP can recruit the talent I think he can coach them up.

Trey Smith just ruled out indefinitely as the blood clots have returned.

Man, fml. Hate it for the kid and brutal for the team.
