Nothing wrong with the majority of Alabama fans that have been fans since birth basically. Just because I chose a different route after high school shouldn't mean my fanship is suddenly mitigated or something to be embarrassed about.

Sure the trashy fans are embarrassing, but not because they're Alabama fans. It is unfortunate that they are our stereotype, but most people that hate Alabama (mostly due to its success and some trashy fans) refuse to admit there are many normal fans as well.

Auburn fans are exactly the same here, most are fans since early childhood. Both fan bases are very loyal to their respective team.

Everything is wrong with it. Have some pride in the school you attended. If you just want to cheer for a team out of sheer fanhood, watch the NFL.

Says the guy posting on a college football forum with a user name of TexasAg.

Are you saying that all the fans that attend TAMU games or cheer for them are alumni?

There is no NFL team in Alabama, dumbass. I don't care for any of the teams particularly in my area. In a state like Alabama, our "pro teams" are Alabama or Auburn.

Hypothetical situation: let's say someone grows up a huge LSU fan in Louisiana, and then after high school they wind up going to Alabama. In your opinion (which I hold in absolutely no regard, just to make that clear), is this person allowed to still be an LSU fan? Let's say this person has no emotional attachment to Alabama, and still feels strongly as an LSU fan. Should they have loyalty to the team they've always been a fan of, or simply only loyalty to this new event (attending this particular school)?

My college didn’t have a football program. Can I watch college teams?

Perfect example of the redneck fans people are talking bring negativity to a program.

For the record I looked at two things when picking a college. To find the best school to fit what I wanted to major in and second was smart enough not to get me in debt so if I could attend an instate college and still achieve my education goal that is where I was going. I accomplished both.

So if I lived in Texas I would have ended up at either UT or Rice to meet the two things I required and still would not have cheered for either.
