ESPN Analyst Dan Orlovsky: Tua will be the LeBron of College Football

Tua Tagovailoa won Alabama’s starting quarterback battle, and that proved to be the right call in a Week 1 rout of Louisville in Orlando.
He’s already drawing rave reviews, despite only playing one-and-a-half games of college football so far. ESPN college football analyst Dan Orlovsky joined “Get Up” this week and compared the young quarterback to a young LeBron James:
“I don’t want to go extreme, but I’m going extreme,” Orlovsky says. “Tua is college football’s version of LeBron 15 years ago. We’ve never seen anything like him — this truly dual-threat, and not a dual-threat from chaos; it’s a dual-threat from execution. When I watch Tua play, I get Reggie Bush feelings. Like, what truly crazy play is going to happen? … This kid is doing things at the quarterback position that we’ve never seen, at least in a really long time.”

I am starting to think these analysts are just trying to get in the young mans head. We have literally seen him play 1.5 games of meaningful football.

I'll say this, I've gonna back and watched alot of Tuas passes all the way back to his first spring game and the kid almost always throws it on a dime exactly where he wants.
Even on his interceptions the ball was going exactly where he meant to and he just made a bad read.
You combine that with his quick decision making and increasingly skilled ability to read and stare off defenders, change pass speeds, throw beautiful spirals, etc. and the kid is pretty special

They are setting the poor kid up to fail. He isn't going to know what to do when he finally plays a quality team and they start catching those should be picks. He going to panic trying to make a play and take a 15 yard sack or start sling everything up for grabs.

I mean.. I’m not a rocket scientist or anything... but he did come in to beat a really good UGA team last year so he has played against a quality opponent (albeit only half a game)

Tua will be the end of Saban. People are gonna look back and wonder how he kept this kid behind Jalen for so long

He aslo has some great receivers and supporting cast, so that does make it easier for him.

quote:UGA had already been exposed by Auburn a few weeks early and had they caught the picks he threw to them Bama would have never been in the game. UGA's DBs handed him the game. The final TD was made by the WR. Any QB in the SEC would have made that throw.

Auburn should expose us more often

Guess he wasn’t healthy for that one handed Knight from UCF either was he?
