So they got Tech w/o their starting QB and nearly lost. Now they are probably going to get Iowa State w/o their star RB b/c of Baylor players starting a fight.

Just browsing Stassen today.
He has a workup of rankings (preseason vs end of season). Shows who over time was the consistently most or least underrated or overrated teams preseason.
Texas is actually #1 most overrated team in college football history (USC is number 2). This is on both his most frequently ranked teams (1989 to present) and all time, all teams metric.
Tom Herman has managed to beat that metric so far this season, because Texas started out historically low on the preseason poll. #23.

I don’t know of a single Texas fan that liked him. He was constantly mocked by their fans. But he was a 2* safety that started as a True Freshman so that says more about how bad Mack Brown’s recruiting got at the end of his time in Austin.

Welp Tom Herman May be laughing all the way to the bank, because Texas is probably going to win the lil 12 in his second year. No he won’t be playing in the playoffs, but he will be able to sell it to recruits. I just hope ou & Texas have to face teams with a defense in their bowl matchup.

i really doubt they will outscore kyler and co.
they had a nice season, would love to see them face a team with a defense in the bowl game but you know it will be UCF, WSU or some other team that puts up a ton of points.

As much s willing your conference is a selling point, how easy would it be to say "So they won their conference, beat OU twice, and still weren't close to making the playoffs? How many years has the SEC champion been left out? How many time has 2 SEC teams made it to the playoffs? How many times has the Big 12 missed the playoffs all together?"
