People want to make fun of Gus and his HS Offense, but AU scored the following against those opponents last year:
Anyone who laughs at Gus' offense is not a wise man. Whether it came from HS or Bill Belichik, it usually works. It's not all finesse either, though it does use a lot of hocus pocus. But hey...
You did forget the 7 vs UGA the second time. But your point is made.

hey genius you do know the difference between DL and front 7, right?
As for phil steeles defensive ranking. If you add the numbers up and divide by three it looks like LSU has the second best "D" in the SEC.
Only behind bama of course.

LSU is towards the bottom. That defense is going to be lost.

How many preseason all SEC teams did Devin White and Greedy make last year?
Actually the player Dave Aranda said was LSU's best Dlineman last year couldn't play.
ALL LSU's OLBs were recruited as OLBs. Name one that was recruited as a DE?
Taylor at ILB and Chaisson at OLB had decent seasons as true freshmen. Just as good as what the tide returns.
That LSU "D" that got pushed around by anyone with muscle was the ONLY SEC "D" that held that mighty tide "O" to under 300 yards total offense. The ONLY SEC defense to hold bama under 200 yards rushing. It was 116 yards to be exact, 3.2 YPC avg.
LSU did finish top 4 in the SEC in total and scoring "D". They were pretty good last year. Most are saying this will be Aranda's best defense at LSU and best since '11.

Stidham couldn’t just pass to a wide open player like he did all game 1. Our front 7 was in place, the edge was set, and the dbs covered the WRs up. That combo shuts down offenses.

It's hard to believe UGA has had only one season of note since 1980.
Come on man. I'm not a UGA fan, but that is preposterous. You lose any credibility with statements like that. Mark Richt alone finished in the top 7 6 times, including number 2 twice, number 3 once and number 5. All 4 of those years they were within a hair of either winning or playing for the NC, with a great chance to win. That's not counting last year.
Not trying to downplay the NC, it's a significant hump to get over, but UGA, like AU, has been a very good program the last 37 years. They have actually come close to a NC more often than you. But again you have the NC - I get it.
Since 1980:
NC: AU 1, UGA 0
Top 5: UGA 6, AU 4
Top 10: UGA 15, AU 12
Ranked: AU 24, UGA 23
10+ wins: UGA 16, AU 11

AUs OL contributed to stopping AUs Offense. Herb Hand substitution rotation for when an OL got hurt was to reshuffle the entire line. AU was never able to have any continuity the entire year. I have had HS Coaches shake their head at that concept.

It was our defense adjusting and our special teams not screwing up. Stidham and Johnson had nowhere to go with the ball the 2nd time around, and didn’t get 2nd chances.

This is how we know "Texas Aggies Fan" is an alter.
A&M hasn't had a top 10 defense since 2001.

Neither you or Phil Steele know dick about LSU’s D

The problem with AU over the years since TT, was they could not find hard hitting LBs.
You do realize the two best LB's that TT produced were both recruited to Auburn to play WR, don't you?
Karlos Dansby
Dontarrious Thomas
quote:
The 6'4" Thomas weighed 183 pounds when he left dinky Perry, Ga.; the 6'5" Dansby was 186 when he left Birmingham. Both were promised a chance to play receiver, but Tuberville had other things in mind for them: the weight room, the dinner table and the defensive side of the ball. The coach, who'd tutored Lewis as a Miami assistant, figured Dansby for defensive end and Thomas for safety before both grew into reluctant linebackers.
They were coached to become badass LB's!!!

Typical insulated and clueless frog in small pond. You just HAD to type this BS which probably caused any knowledgeable football fan who read it to laugh and move on.
Looky here Boudreaux...here is your homework assignment. You will do a little study on Alabama’s returning LB Corp. And then if you still believe your own BS, post a declaration that LSUs returning LBs are “just as good,” and you wouldn’t swap LB corps with Alabama. THEN go do the same with Auburn, State, Georgia...hell throw in A&M and Florida.
Believing the LSU LB Corp next year is equivalent to Alabama’s explains the inane belief that LSU will have “a dominant, best in the country, front seven...” It is pretty clear that belief is based on delusion and faith, not comparative analysis.

No, KJ wasn't a threat after the 1st Qrt. UGA spread out more to take away the bubble screen and jet sweeps. Again, AUs OL was so poor, AU became one dimensional.
I was only harassing you.

Auburn's D, dark horse. Just being honest. I'd put them at 2. LSU at 3. Dawgs next. Miss St D is middle of the pack at best. A&M will still be A&M.

Johnson was surrounded early and piled on a lot. But UGA figured he was effective not because of injury and took away AUs outside game.
I understand what you are saying, but I have watched the game 3-4 times (go figure) and we stopped the outside bubble screens very early. In the first series alone y'all threw 2-3 that were stuffed. So, I would disagree that we saw Kerryon was injured then shut down the outside.

With the OL play, Stidham couldnt carry the team alone.
