I have never really thought of Texas as a Blue Blood.
There was a time when Texas would have been one of the first bluebloods that came to mind, maybe even before Alabama. Texas began struggling in the 80's and has never really reclaimed their past glory, imo.

For who has spent the most and achieved little.
We always hear about how Texas has all this money and resources, but the big schools in Texas really don't produce for the money they spend.

Neither does LSU, UTenn or Auburn, imo. Sorry, but I don't think half of the SEC is a blueblood.
I completely understand why an Arkansas fan might feel better thinking this way.

Were you even alive when UGA won its last NC?
I mean, I was clearly not even talking just the last 18 years. When you consider that CFB as a national sport is only about 88 years old, 37 years is a huge chunk of history.

You may have forgotten 'bout the 2000's decade. They had a stretch under Mack Brown that was pretty impressive...from 2001-2009 they had 9 straight 10+ win seasons, 1 BCS National Championship, 2 BCS Championship game appearances, 2 Big 12 Championships, 6 Big 12 South Division Championships, 4 BCS Bowl appearances (with 3 victories), and an overall bowl record of 7-2. They had six top 6 finishes in the AP poll and never finished lower than 13th. That was probably their most impressive run with the exception of the 60's...

Wait, are you talking about UG being a blue-blood, top 8 program?

The majority of all-time rankings have LSU ahead of UG...

On the cusp (no order, but Nebraska/UT seem the closest to meeting the criteria):
- Nebraska (only because they've recently fallen below the .700 win % threshold)
- UTenn
- Penn St
- UF
- Auburn
- LSU
- UGA
- FSU
- Miami
Idk...when I think "blue blood" I think old money teams that have succeeded throughout pretty much all eras. Bama, Michigan, USC, ND, etc are teams that have pretty much sustained success since the early 20th century. Teams like UF/FSU/Miami had meteoric rises but I still think of them as new money since they didn't really do much of note until the 90s (or late 80s in miamis case). Teams like AU/LSU/UGA I wouldn't say are even really close to "blue blood" status.

If your team had actually done anything before your parents could walk you would understand. So few fans of rival programs understand Bama tradition because so few other programs can match it.
LSUs boxing titles really dont do it for me

No most of us rational posters do not. But we do deserve to be on the lower rung of the 2nd tier.

UGA has:
-more all time wins
-higher all time win percentage
-more SEC titles
-more bowl game appearances
-more bowl game wins
-more heisman winners
LSU has:
-1 more national title
What rankings would have LSU over us especially prior to 2000? Prior to Saban's arrival I don't even see how that would be possible.

Not sure why someone downvoted you for that, that would put us around ~15th all time which is right around the neighborhood of where we are. You coudl make a case for UGA being anywhere around the 12th-15th best team historically.
