It didn't seem like Nuke had his best stuff today but threw 6 innings of one hit ball

And he had 6 k's when they took him out.... what a killer ace he's becoming. From the Braves twitter to Newk (guess he prefers that if he calls himself that on twitter) :

Haha, the Braves' announcer Joe wanted to call the Marlins' 2nd baseman "halfass" when he let Ender get an infield hit with slow defense of some kind. He said "I just wish I could say that it describes him so well, half ____ " and Chip said "Well you can say it once."

Tucker knocked in Kurt in the 9th, 4 zip. All the Braves hitters have hits today except Albies and Flaherty (unless you count Bautista pinch hitting).

Whew that was lucky, 4 to 3 survival even after Biddle and Vizcaino came in. Thanks Newk and Ender FTW. Some of the bullpen did okay I guess (like Freeman and Winkler) but those guys in the 9th tried to give Braves' fans heart attacks.

From today's AAA Gwinnett game:

quote:

#Braves 3B prospect Austin Riley went 4-5 with 3 HR (including grand slam) with 8 RBI. Braves No. 6 prospect Kolby Allard went 8 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 K.

Bold prediction: Austin Riley will be the Braves starting third baseman at the all star break.

In the near future, there will be a Braves lineup that looks like this:

Albies
Acuna
Freeman
Riley
Inciarte
Swanson
Pache
(Future catcher)

Holy frick that's amazing

Can’t wait to see a lineup like that wreck shite in the division. I hate the Nats with the fire of a thousand suns.

He's definitely being talked about a lot, but he is so far away, who knows if he will pan out(just made it to full season ball).

There is a lot of talk that we are very interested in Joey Bart from Georgia Tech in the draft, but he might not make it to the 8th pick.

Me too but they were the ones who beat the dbacks to give ATL the best record in NL, what can you do? I feel worse pulling for the Yankees than anybody, so as long as they don't play the Nats in a series anytime soon.... uh oh.

Game time is 2:20pm EDT today; makeup game against the Cubs from earlier. The team flew out of Miami last night, in Chicago today for one game, then flying back to Atlanta tonight and will play a 3-game series against the Cubs. 3 cities in two days.

Reports have the thunderstorms clearing before game time.
