So grateful to everyone that has reached out over the past two weeks - whether it was to check on my condition, to wish me a Happy Birthday, or both.
Progress has been good, just not at the pace I want. However, things are moving in the right direction. Still dealing with some double vision, but otherwise I am feeling so much better.
So thankful for my wife and children, and so many others that have helped, or reached out, in an attempt to do so.
Trying not to rush this process, because I realize I won’t be 100% overnight.
Will do my best to keep you updated more frequently. Your love and support has been unbelievable.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Sincerely,

Report: Dallas Warmack to transfer from UA after graduation (BamaOnLine)

Note: Warmack's departure opens the spot needed to fit Tevita Musika within the 85 total scholarships limit. In other words, Bama will be right back at the 85 limit when Musika enrolls.

Grayson blue-chippers announce for four different schools (247Sports, Steve Wiltfong)

quote:

Four of the nation’s top prospects, from the same school, decided to make their college decision at the same time on Tuesday, making for an exciting day at Loganville (Ga.) Grayson High. It was also a big day for a few of college football’s biggest programs.

The industry-generated 247Sports Composite’s No. 1 ranked outside linebacker Owen Pappoe picked Auburn in a recruitment that at different points saw Clemson, Florida State and Georgia considered the leader. Prior to announcing Pappoe, who is the most athletic prospect in the country, told 247Sports he’s been committed for three months.

Alabama beat out Miami and LSU for the No. 6 weak-side defensive end Kevin Harris, who has the traits to be fantastic JACK backer in the Crimson Tide’s defense. His verbal pushes this 2019 class up one spot to No. 1 in the 247Sports Composite team rankings.

Tennessee held off Auburn for the country’s No. 7 offensive tackle Wanya Morris.

Texas beat Notre Dame among others for Top247 cornerback Kenyatta Watson II who ranks as the country’s No. 18 player at his position.

Let’s first give kudos to the strength and conditioning program over at Grayson. These are four of the nation’s most prolific athletes.

As already mentioned, the 6-foot 1/2, 209-pound Pappoe sits at No. 1 in the Nike Football Sparq Rating with the highest score ever recorded, a 147.12, which included a 4.47 40-yard dash, a 4.00 shuttle, 45-foot powerball toss and a 40-inch vertical leap.

Sitting at No. 6 overall and No. 1 among cornerbacks is the 6-foot-1, 172-pound Watson who ran 4.5, with a 4.12 shuttle and a 45-2 inch vertical which ranks No. 1 in the country.

Harris has the third highest score among the defensive linemen including a 4.76 40-yard dash, a 4.28 shuttle and a 38-5 inch vertical leap.

No offensive lineman has tested better to date than Morris who ran a 5.04 40-yard dash with a 4.5 shuttle and 41-foot power ball toss. These prospects all have a high ceiling.

As it stands right now, Pappoe is the nonpareil of the group. Ranked as the nation’s No. 8 recruit regardless of position, Gus Malzahn and company will count on him in year one as the three starting linebackers will exhaust their eligibility at season’s end. Pegged to play the Money backer position int he Tigers defense where he’ll be asked to play in space drawing assignments like covering the tight end, Pappoe could certainly play in the box as a MIKE as well.

The short-area burst is what makes Pappoe unique, he's a striker, shows ability to get off blocks and make plays against the run, and he's smooth changing direction. Pappoe is also an impact player on special teams. With Pappoe in the fold, Auburn moves from No. 25 to No. 19 in the 247Sports Recruiting Rankings.

It wouldn’t be surprising if Harris isn’t the one that is ranked the highest when said and done. Another that makes things happen on special teams,

Harris is dynamic and relentless as a pass rusher, physical when he’s around the football, from the strong hands to the speed to power, he has what you’re looking for.

Alabama’s track record with five-star recruits makes Harris an even more exciting get, and he’s one that on the camp circuit this spring has put himself in the discussion for that designation.

Tennessee may have needed Morris more than Auburn needed Pappoe. They are a huge question mark at the point of attack and guys like Morris are tough to find with the frame and ability to move his feet. It wouldn’t be surprising if we hear his name called in the first or second round down the road.

In Grayson’s offense, Morris shows his versatility as an offensive tackle from the drive run blocking, pass protection (light on his feet, sets himself quickly) to getting out and running and putting a hat on someone in the screen game.

He won’t be a one-trick pony when he arrives in Knoxville. Teamed with offensive guard Jackson Lampley, that’s a nice duo on the offensive line for Jeremy Pruitt and company early in the 2019 cycle. Morris is someone you can build around on the offensive line and as the new Vols staff aims to grow their program from the line of scrimmage out, they do so moving forward with one of their top targets regardless of position in the fold.

If you’re the Longhorns staff, you’re happy about the length and change of direction ability Watson brings to the secondary. The fluid movement skills, the speed. Texas signed arguably the top defensive back class in the country in 2018 and Watson will go toe to toe athletically with those guys as he works to push his way into what should be a competitive competition for game-day reps.

So does the staff think Harris is in the mold of a Tim Williams?

Idk what the staff thinks.

Tim Williams 247 profile
Christian Miller 247 profile
Kevin Harris 247 profile

On paper, Harris is a close match to Miller.

Miller | Harris
HT: 6-4 | 6-4
WT: 222 | 217
40: 4.74 | 4.76 (Harris 4.5 in 247 profile)
SH: 4.18 | 4.13
VJ: 38.60 | 36.4

"Miller is in that mold of a hybrid that could play some with his hand down and some standing up on the next level. He is an elite pass rusher on the high school level. He is very quick off the ball, he has great anticipation, and he closes on the quarterback quickly. He has long arms, contains the edge well against the run, and is very smart on the football field. He still some developing to do physically and in pass coverage." -- Chad Simmons

I've heard Chris Allen compared to Tim Williams more than anyone. He kind of quietly had as good of a Spring as anybody on the team. He's about to be a star.

And Harris looks to compare favorably on film.

You wonder who will bulk up to DE, and who could possibly play ILB, because we're just filthy at OLB.

If Jennings and Lewis both leave early, we'll be down to only 5 OLBs, plus 2019 signees.

Outside Linebacker (9)
SR: Christian Miller*, Jamey Mosley*
JR: Anfernee Jennings*, Terrell Lewis
SO: Christopher Allen
FR: Jarez Parks, Eyabi Anoma, Jordan Davis, Cameron Latu

Inside Linebacker (8)
SR: Keith Holcombe*
JR: Mack Wilson, Joshua McMillon*
SO: Dylan Moses, VanDarius Cowan, Ben Davis*
FR: Markail Benton*, Jaylen Moody

Bama may aim to take 6-7 LBs in this cycle --
2-3 OLBs & 3-4 ILBs. Some may be OLB/ILBs.

Linebackers (5-7)
4* OLB King Mwikuta 6-4/232 (GA) hudl
4* OLB Kevin Harris 6-4/218 (GA) hudl
4* ILB Shane Lee 6-1/240 (MD) hudl
5* ILB Nakobe Dean 6-1/215 (MS) hudl
4* ILB Christian Harris 6-1/225 (LA) hudl
5* OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux 6-5/235 (CA) hudl
4* O/ILB Mohamoud Diabate 6-4/220 (AL) hudl
4* ILB Lakia Henry 6-1/230 (Juco/GA) hudl
4* OLB Laiatu Latu 6-5/242 (CA) hudl
4* O/ILB Rian Davis 6-3/233 (FL) hudl
4* ILB Vonta Bentley 6-1/220 (AL) hudl

OLB: Thibodeaux looks physically ready (almost) to play in 2019. Mwikuta is thicker than K. Harris.

O/ILB: Diabate is a take, per SEC Country.

ILB: Lee, Dean, C. Harris & Henry look physically ready (now) to play in 2019.

I think those 7 may comprise the top of the LB board (I doubt Nolan Smith will flip from UGA).
If we land those 7 and Lewis stays we'll be set.

Bear in mind that some OLBs might also be able to play ILB. Generally speaking, height & length is needed more at OLB.

Note: The LB section of the Top Targets list (2nd post in this thread) is now updated (as shown above) including the OLB & ILB designations.

So you had a bad day --- UGA? I thought Kirby was going to close the doors over there. Maybe he just didn't want any of them.

I read earlier that he is expected to commit later this week. Don't know if that is true or not.

Now for the not so good news.

LSU got two CBs for Ishmael Sopsher yesterday, one from the Ole Miss mod and another from the founder of Prepforce.
