Cam Newton, Ronnie Brown give Noah Cain the pitch (247)
quote:

In its recruitment of Noah Cain, the 4-star running back from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy, Auburn got an assist from two Tigers legends last Saturday during Big Cat Weekend. One was Cam Newton. The other was Ronnie Brown.

Newton, the 2010 Heisman-winning quarterback who led Auburn to a national title, and Brown, the No. 2 pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, both attended the event, which brought in about 30 top Auburn recruiting targets to campus.

“Cam Newton and Ronnie Brown, two great guys that I met,” Cain said. “Cam Newton was just telling me about Auburn. Ronnie Brown played running back with my running backs coach (Cadillac Williams). Telling me how they shared the ball together, how they got better.”

According to Cain, he got some one-on-one time with Newton, which he thought was pretty cool.

“He was just like, 'Auburn is a great place for running backs’ and he definitely liked my body type. He said this is one of the best places to achieve your drams.”

In addition to Newton and Brown, former Auburn players Montravius Adams, Chris Davis and Carlos Rodgers also helped with the event.

For Cain, Auburn appears to be a top contender. Some sources think Auburn and Texas may be the teams to watch. However, LSU and Ohio State also remain very much in the hunt. Additionally, he will visit Georgia next weekend. Cain plans to release a top five in late July or early August, he told Auburn Undercover. “(The Tigers) have a real good chance of making it,” Cain said. “I had a great conversation with Coach (Gus) Malzahn. You know, top five is going to be real tough. I’ve been talking to a lot of different schools right now but Auburn is right there.”

Cain arguably is Auburn's top running back target for the 2019 cycle. The 5-feet-10.5, 209-pound standout is the No. 2 running back and No. 53 overall recruit nationally in the industry generated 247Sports Composite. This was his second visit to Auburn. He previously visited the Tigers in January with his father. His mother then made the trip to Auburn by herself to meet the staff this spring. Last weekend, all three -- Cain, his mom and dad -- visited Auburn together to attend Big Cat Weekend. Afterward, both Cain and his father told Auburn Undercover they had a great time at the event.

Auburn may only take one running back in the 2019 class. The Tigers already have their top quarterback (Bo Nix) and receiver (George Pickens) targets on the commit list. Nix knows Cain well and has actively recruited him since he committed to Auburn in January.

Hopefully Cam gave him a ride in the Bentley

This article came out before Johnson's surprise commitment but whatever

Who could be next to commit? (247)

Entering the heart of summer, Auburn’s football program appears to be in a good place on the recruiting trail.

After a strong six-week run, the Tigers have eight total commitments and the No. 20 class rankings. The commits have an average rating of 4-stars, which is quite good.

Tight end Luke Deal of Greenwood (S.C.) Emerald, who committed to Auburn on May 25 over Notre Dame and Michigan, was the latest to join the class. As of now — and this is strictly an educated guess — it looks like Auburn will add about 15 or 16 recruits to the list before all is said and done.

At quarterback, the Tigers have 4-star recruit and Elite 11 finalist Bo Nix of Pinson Valley (Ala.) committed. They’re probably done there. But elsewhere, the Auburn staff has a lot of work remaining.

On the offensive line, you could see Auburn add up to four more recruits. One the defensive line, the Tigers don’t yet have any commitments, but appear to be strong contenders for several top targets. At running back, Auburn may only take one prospect and Noah Cain of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy appears to be the biggest target at this time. At receiver, the Tigers probably will add only one more. At linebacker, they have 5-star Owen Pappoe committed, but that leaves a couple spots open. And in the secondary, you could see Auburn take two or three more.

Who could be the next recruit to join the Auburn commit list? Here are some candidates.
