You pay for your first year, then you count towards next years numbers.

Got ya. Thanks. That's the first time I have ever seen that. grayshirt and preferred walk-on are the only terms I have ever seen used.

Never really happened that way. He was pretty much accurate til he left. His connection was high up on Chiz's staff. When Chiz was fired Scott posted less & less til he finally sold the site to RunInRed at AUFamily & left completely. Scott sells insurance now.

Still surprised JaVarrius Johnson’s monster senior season didn’t get him the small bump he needed in order to get his 4th
Not over yet. Rivals & ESPN still has 4*s to hand out & 247 hasn't done their final rankings yet.

Yea as someone else had stated, I had also heard the connection was with Trooper. Not sure if true or not, but he would definitely fall on a sword for Trooper so I always tended to believe it.

Well it's not so much an AU/UT battle now apparently

KN says that all the other schools are selling Jordan hard on fact he probably won't be able to see field early for AU. Also his dad REALLY likes TCU and their in home did enough to convince him to go back to original plan to OV to TCU this weekend. KN says there are a lot of people in his group with different ideas and preferences. AU is going to keep working on him but Tigers definitely trending down now for the moment
Still could work out in AU's benefit in the end though. He has the 1st weekend in Feb open right before NSD & I think he will still have an OV left.

Actually they are on scholly immediately & don't have to pay their own way. You're thinking of grayshirt.

Blue Shirt

Blueshirting wasn't used until recently, and it still isn't common, but it's essentially another loophole to get around oversigning.

The blueshirt rule allows schools to put "unrecruited" athletes on scholarship once they arrive on campus, but count them against the next year's scholarship total, as long as they don't play. Here's what it means to be "recruited," according to the NCAA:

Was provided an official visit to the campus;
Had arranged, in-person, off-campus contact with a coach; or
Was sent an NLI or other written scholarship offer.

Coaches can contact players and have them on campus for unofficial visits — when the recruits pay their ways — without technically recruiting them. Essentially, as long as a recruit doesn't take an official visit or host one of that school's coaches, he wasn't "recruited" by that school.

Tennessee has popularized the practice, which was first developed by New Mexico State.

Hard to believe we're losing 3 starters at LB and having difficulties recruiting that position.

Wut? T-Will has been recruiting better there than any other position on the team.

Welp Dylan Jordan just announced he will be taking an OV to TCU not AU this weekend....

What are your guys thoughts on him or Brothers?

I watched his tape after your comments Paw, you are right, the guy is fast, seems to understand very well developing plays and closes incredibly quickly.

Please Moore, please, kid even said he was not 100% for all star and was a friggin beast.

I can defiintely see the comparison of a young Kerryon to MAR, kid could be something special.

Bring in the ones leaning and this OT kid from Missouri and call it a day, would be a VERY good close.

I could see him changing that tho to squeeze in another visit. Seems like he's a very easily convincible kid or he's got a lot of people in his circle all with different ideas

Some notes on Auburn targets from the Florida 247 site…

-Gators are confident they land Charles Moore. They are relying on his relationships with Mullen and Grantham.

-Apparently Miami has gotten back in the race with Mark Antony-Richards. Diaz has gotten involved and is apparently recruiting him as a running back.

- looks like Auburn was too late to the party for Dawand Jones. He has two official visits left and they are going to Ohio State and either Florida or Penn State. He is a take for Ohio state who is the team to beat.

That sucks, but we still have an ace in the hole (RG)

Wish we could have gotten him to pull the trigger early after his OV

Interesting news from KN. 4* QB John Rhys Plumlee who is committed to UGA now expected to OV to AU. Could also play WR or DB & pretty sure he will play baseball too

UGA asked a composite 4* to blueshirt? Who do they think they are Bama?
