The defensive line didn't do so poorly over the last few years, but we're switching to a 3 - 4. D-Line is going to need a completely different look and ends are going to be more of a priority than tackles.

I wonder if a guy like Clayton will switch to OLB? He was like 255 or so last i heard. Plus the Fr Reese we have coming in will be a terror off the edge at that spot. I could see Moon making noise as well.

Luckily we got some nice beef to put on the DL to occupy blockers. Our man child Slaton will be a great NT imo.

In most 3-4s the DEs are usually two real DEs and one OLB and a MLB...in this day and age of the passing game one of the LBers is replaced by a DB except on obvious run downs or on first and ten deep in their territory. then on real obvious passing downs...two extra DBs are usually brought in and of course that's when you get hit by draws and screens of course
You still need to stop the run as a priority on defense and make the other team throw more than they want to.
Running QBs create a problem when your back seven is backing off and leave a gap for the QB to take off from the pocket. QBs who run are usually quick and fleet of foot...so LBers are at a disadvantage compared to DBs.
Blitzing always sounds good but when a RB/QB runs for 15-20 yds folks complain about the DC...but that is what can happen when you send a LBer blitzing and he is picked up.
The key is to always disguise blitzs or better yet...not need to because your front four is getting pressure on the QB.

I'm just glad rumph is gone. A decent coach but poor recruiter

I think UF is in a decent spot to switch to a 3-4 besides LB depth.
Upfront Slaton and Conliffe both have the size to play NT. Looks like the transfer Dunlap is well over 300. DT Campbell, Clarke, Ancurm maybe Carter or Polite. DE Zuniga, Jefferson, Carter or Polite.
OLB/DE Moon and Clayton

Well, Mario is staying in Oregon as HC, maybe he’ll keep the DC as well so theres 2 of Willies top recruiters. Plus recruits are all over twitter throwing WT under the bus for being a no good liar.

Without Jim and Cristobal he is an average recruiter

leavitt has maintained the whole time he's staying in oregon unless he gets a head gig somewhere.
i know those guys get tired of carrying taggarts water.

It's got to be annoying as frick when someone can't stay at a job for much time. Taggart's got his wish at FSU , but he's got a lot of shite to fix and a fanbase that won't even give him a year.

w/o top coordinators, taggart won't last 2 seasons at girlyU.

They might do a little better next year by virtue of having their QB back, but I've never seen him actually outcoach another team that was better than him.
Mullen beat coaches with exponentionally more talent, resources and prestige than he had.

What the hell is the deal with that guy. I took him in the Recruiting Mock Draft for that recruiting class and has been a total bust. I remember the hype around him coming out of his senior year was that he might be the fastest player that UF had ever drafted for a front 7 type role. Sounded like coming out of his freshman year that it was a size/durability problem. Still the same or just not adjusting to college well?
