Yeah I do this. Cracking simple small jokes to make others chuckle/giggle to look at the positives. Even at a funerals. I especially do it if I feel tears are about to come out. Ha
I also get an insta-smile when attention is on me.
His smile is no different than les miles, fulmer, etc clapping on the sideline when something goes wrong. A good leader is looked at instantly for validation when something goes good or bad, and he needs to make sure his players don't always feel like they've disappointed you. Difference between a "you know better" reaction, and a "shite happens lets dust off and get going" reaction.
