theyre talking about it right now on SECN. how do you not even try to deny him the ball? you want to talk x's and o's or just defend BK to no end?

I’ve just replayed this like 5 times.
The defense wasn’t set.
Nobody guarded Sexton at the inbounds
Nobody was close to him while he dribbled down the court.
Everybody but Williams either backed away or in Willians case was late to help.
I’m truly baffled.

Let’s say you have Gilder try to deny him the ball. Sexton still gets it on the run as their play was designed with two guys screening for him around the foul line. Now Gilder is even more out of position.
He beat Gilder around the corner, neither Williams or Flagg came up to help near the rim as they should have, he made the shot. Ball game.
