This should be the fricking standard. It shouldn't take a possible coach demanding that they built modern facilities for us to build those facilities. We should build them because they make the program better beyond just a coach.
And they will be at UF very soon. The only potential stumbling block I could see with facilities is timeline. We are pretty much stuck until they can get the new baseball field going. Ironically, if the IPF wasn't built we could simply build on the current practice fields and add more outdoor space and the IPF on the site of the current baseball stadium. We should have been planning for this years ago, but obviously that didn't happen.

Spivey and De La Torre:
It's a situation now of getting the fine lines of the contract figured out. Hold up is on facility commitments and how many speaking engagements he does a year. AD and Chip Kelly are done talking, now it's lawyers hammering out the contract. It's going to be Chip Kelly.

It's ridiculous man. Invest in the program at a championship level if you want to win at a championship level. shite isn't that hard
UF has won when they have been behind in the facilities race. The UAA has been financially conservative the past 10 years while everyone else is neck deep in debt outside of Bama.
The model at UF is win then get the facilities upgrades you want. I don't think that should apply to football and maybe basketball. It was stupid not to have an IPF already. However, I like the fact UF is able to pull the trigger with firing a coach and not hang onto them for financial reasons.

UF should NEVER get hung up on the financial contracts when firing a coach. Don't give bad contracts in the first place

It's a double sided coin.
Investing in the program gives the coach a better chance to be successful.
Investing in the coach with bad facilities puts the coach at a disadvantage.
I think we need to invest in it all this time around, what worked with Spurrier and Urban doesn't matter. Our fanbase is going to be throwing money into the athletic program if we hire Chip. Hell, I think we could get 100,000 people out there to build the facilities for them for free if it meant us getting an offense and competing at a championship level

If we were ever going to spend some money to upgrade the facilities for a coach -- it would be worth it for it to be Chip Kelly. 100%.
He's a guy that could bring in millions for our program, we need to throw everything we possibly can to get him to come and turn our program around while also generating money and future Gators for our fanbase.

According to my #Source #UF won’t announce Chip Kelly until everything is signed off. It is just a waiting game at this point. #Florida #CollegeFootball #NCAA
Goldkamp on 247: “wouldn’t rule out a potential announcement today”
Edit: The other pay boards have been saying that it is a matter of time.

This is such a different type of situation then we are used to being in given that there isn't another school involved. Normally you'd get a bunch of info from the school we're poaching, but this really lets SS control the flow of information. Allows the anticipation to really build up.

Honestly, Vilma seemed pretty sarcastic while he talked about that. The other sources seem valid, though.
