Solution to Alabama's QB Situation

I just watched the whole game and after being somewhat frustrated with Jalen in the first half and then seeing Tua play in the second half. I think that I found the solution to the issue. First Jalen is to good to sit on the bench and Tua is to good to sit on the bench. So because each quarter back brings something different to the game I think we do a rotational start of the QB position depending on who the opponent is. Tua starts if we face a tough run def but poor pass coverage team. Jalen starts if we face a tough pass coverage team. Of course it be up to the coaches but we need to get this kid playing.

Alabama does not have a qb situation. They have a clear starter and a clear #2. What they do have is an idiotic full retard section of the fan base that is never satisfied; even when averaging over 40 points a game with no defensive scores. Last years excellent squad averaged adout 38 with the d scoring almost every game. Suck it haters.

Wow dude you mad or something?
I never said Jalen shouldn't be the starter. What I said was Tua is just so good he should be starting as well.
Look at the passing numbers and tell me who is the better passer (Tua)? Looking at the rushing numbers obviously Jalen is better in that regard and running a rushing attack because he is a threat to run as well. Against a really good rushing defense your better option to score is Tua. What I saw today was Jalen not able to read the defense to find his second or third option. I also saw a couple of passes where he missed the receiver on screen plays. It was absolutely obvious in the game today who is a better passer and can read defenses to find his 2nd or 3rd option.

Exactly right, Hurts completed 13-21 for appx 200 yards for a TD and no turnovers. If he does that every game the rest of the year we will not lose. Also, everybody tries to evaluate these two as if the only thing that matters is this year in games, or practice which we can't see, but that's not how it is done. Jalen Hurts has a 15-1 record last year that absolutely makes his resume light years ahead of Tua, thus JH is and will remain the starter.

I have thought about this issue a lot.
Do you think, when Saban recruited Tua, he told him that Hurts was going to start no matter what? I think you will agree that had Saban said that, Tua would never have come. So obviously, Saban promised Tua that the Tide would be open to starting the quarterback that gives the team the best chance to win, regardless of past record, number of starts etc.
There will be a completion. It is been promised and agreed to. It was promised and agreed to during Tua's recruitment. Tua came here, not because he was content with being a backup until his senior year, but because he thought he would be good enough to take the job.
Tua is not a typical backup. He is a future all-American type, Heisman trophy candidate calibre player. So he can't be treated as some typical QB in waiting who waits his turn and keeps his mouth shut.
Of course the competition begins in earnest the day after this season ends. Jalen is just too good and too smooth to be beaten out by any true frosh. But I warn you all, do not be shocked if Saban pulls Hurts for Tua if our offense completely stuggles in a big game.
I personally think that once Tua gets his full grasp of the offense and calms down a bit on the gunslinging, you all will see how defensive fronts will losen up and our running game will become even more devistating with him under center.

The QB "situation" has been handled just fine. Both guys seem content with their roles. Alabama is scoring over 40 points a game. Nothing will or should change.

Go look at the Clemson game. Our lack of a passing game and Bo going out really made it a rough game. Jalen looks fine vs opponents we are favored to beat by 40 points, but lets see how he looks vs UGA or even LSU.

But we don't what this years Jalen will do. I think it's stupid to compare what he did last year to now. He is way better than last year. On one drive alone tonight he threw 3 straight passes down the middle all good passes one was a TD, none of which he would have attempted last year. So back to my point if he puts up 200 with no turnovers on anyone this year we will win, in my opinion.

We're blessed to have two very good QBs. No need to fret about it. Enjoy it.
I just hope neither one gets hurt. We may need both of them to win the big prize.

Jalen actually threw the ball well all game. Missed timing on maybe two or three throws max. Hurts has the experience and has proven time again he can win. Just calm down boys

eeek, in my humble opinion jalen had been playing better than last year but i think he had a poor game yesterday passing the ball. We nearly lost ridley due to one of those passes although i didn't like him calling out jalen on a couple of poorly thrown balls.
I think tua will play an increasing role as the season progresses, but shining during mop up time and starting are 2 different things.

How early does Tua have to go in before his performance is discounted as "mop up duty". He played almost an entire half.
Honestly it's getting assinine.
