Having South Carolina at #12 is a joke. I know they lost Thornwell and Dozier, but to have them as the 3rd worst team in the SEC is laughable.
Yall lost a lot more than just those 2.
Its not that far fetched.

Yes.

Probably should have given them the benefit of the doubt over AU/MSU/UGA, but they are completely starting over. And, it's not 2012 anymore. The league is filled with experienced teams with NBA level players.

So where should South Carolina be? Top 6? Ahead of who?

14. Tennessee ESPN is trying to contact you to be their new basketball pundit - NOT Where would you put them? It's probably reasonable to have them anywhere between 10-14.
Last year we finished tied for 9th and only lost one player. We rarely finish at the bottom. Im predicting 6th-8th, maybe better.

I don't see anyway we're not top 4.

This year might be the deepest this conference has been in a long, long time.
There are about 4-5 teams that have legitimate reasons to believe they are going to finish top 3.

I don't think that Tennessee will finish with a better SEC record than these teams. 90% sure of it.
- Kentucky
- Florida
- Arkansas
- Texas A&M
- Missouri
- Alabama
Pretty sure they won't finish with a better SEC record than these teams. 70% sure.
- Ole Miss
- Vanderbilt
Toss up whether they finish with a better SEC record than these teams. 50%.
- Georgia
- Auburn
- Mississippi State
- South Carolina
- LSU
I think I'd probably slot them anywhere between 9-14.

Besides Kentucky and Florida I would not be surprised if we finished ahead of any of those teams. Unlike football we tend to overachieve in basketball. Realistically, I think we finsh 7 th but we could be in the top four.

Well, I'd be very, very surprised.

You guys are 21-40 in the SEC over the last 3 seasons, finishing 10th, 9th and 12th.
The SEC is going to be better this year than it has been in any of those years talent and coaching wise, and Tennessee did not add any NBA talent to their roster like most of the league did.

I truly don't think there will be a terrible team in the league this year. And, there could be 6-7 really good teams and another 4-5 solid teams.
When you lose basically all of your good players from the year before it isn't a slap in the face to be ranked 10th.

I think Martin is good enough to keep them top 10. At least one of those teams in the top 4-6 is going to completely bust and be in the bottom 4.

Yea, it's pretty hard in basketball to post 1-14 rankings. Much easier to tier it off.
First Tier
Florida
Kentucky
Texas A&M
Second Tier
Alabama
Arkansas
Missouri
Ole Miss
Vanderbilt
Third Tier
Auburn
Georgia
LSU
Mississippi State
South Carolina
Tennessee
But hey, who knows

Were used to being ranked low in the preseason, so you do you.

I would like to see who you guys would put South Carolina ahead of? Maybe I'm missing something.

Did I kick you in the vag?
All I said is that we're used to this. Sorry somebody disagreed with your silly little rankings, but it wasn't me.

I think youre second tier is full of underachieving teams. I think zero of those teams make the tourney and a few will be towards the bottom.

Well, guess we'll find out.
- Alabama has overachieved the last 2 seasons compared to their preseason expectations, so I don't expect us to all of a sudden start underachieving now.
- The floor for Missouri is going to be pretty high. They'd have to totally fall apart ala LSU in 2016 to not win 18+ games
- Arkansas has been to the NCAA Tournament 2 of the last 3 years and has won 22+ games 3 of the last 4 years, and returns a talented roster.
- Ole Miss is just about as consistent a program as there is in the league.

What? No, that wasn't a sarcastic question. I honestly am asking about the expectations internally for South Carolina. I'm on the outside and just see a bunch of big losses personnel wise, but I'm curious what the feeling is about replacements and such. I obviously don't have an in-depth knowledge of the depth and incoming players.
