Fair enough , I was able to talk to some in line and they've been traveling to all the SEC venues. Extremely nice people

Can't say I'm surprised either. Texas is a good team and we have had trouble winning on the road this season. Gotta move on to the next one, have a big opportunity at home against Auburn on Tuesday night. That arena will be jumping hopefully.

EDIT

Was curious about our road record, and I didn't realize just how bad we have been away from Oxford this season.

10-3 Home
0-6 Away
1-1 Neutral

L vs. Utah 83-74 (Las Vegas - Neutral)
W vs. Rice 73-62 (Las Vegas - Neutral)
L @ MTSU 77-58
L @ Georgia 71-60
L @ Auburn 85-70
L @ Texas A&M 71-69
L @ Arkansas 97-93
L @ Texas 85-72

Point differential in Road/Neutral games won = +11
Point differential in Road/Neutral games lost = -73
Point differential in all Road/Neutral games = -62

We have to find a way to break this cold road game streak. Here is what we have left on the road -

@ Tennessee
@ LSU
@ Mississippi State
@ Missouri
@ Kentucky

Possible wins out of those 5 (IMO) - LSU, MSU, Missouri.

Not that it will matter at season’s end, but if we’ll get the Pavilion rowdy tonight and play pretty good (not perfect necessarily) we can beat Auburn. That would be nice.

Probably going to come down to if Auburn is hot or cold shooting. Game 1, Auburn was cold and couldn't make an outside shot and Ole Miss completely took it to AU. AU only turned it around when Ole Miss tired in the 2H missing Burnett (Sick), HYmon (injury) and Stevens (fouls)

I hope they are ice cold because God knows we aren't gonna step it up enough on the defensive end. It would just be too much out of character.

Agree. Burnett is a shooting guard and Bree just isn't effective at point. We rotate 3 shooting guards at point currently.

Let’s face it, Auburn is pretty darn good this year. On the other hand, we just don’t have any identity at all and when we are off we are off. Also pretty obvious some of our local support has lost interest.

Yea the arena has been empty the whole season. I live in Oxford but refuse to pay almost as much for basketball as football season tickets.

We played like garbage and were in it at the half. Our second half effort might be the worst I’ve ever seen. Auburn got any second or third chance point they wanted and they won every 50/50 ball. I never leave games early and left before the 4 minute media timeout.

If that’s really the best we’ve got coming into the second half at home only down 2 we are truly poorly coached. Effort was just not there tonight at all, especially second half when we were really in the game.

I think some of that has to do with Auburn being way better than we are. However, it is nonetheless proof Kennedy has a fairly low ceiling. Look what Pearl has done with a woeful Auburn team in a very short time. I don’t know that Kennedy could ever build such a team at OM. That said, when you start coach shopping you can easily purchase a lemon.

Agree with the lemon comment. I have known Kennedy personally since he arrived in Oxford and love the man, and I would hate to see him go. Especially if we trade him for someone worse.

However, it's hard to deny the fact that he reached his ceiling in 2013. I'm just not sure if Kennedy can consistently build teams that are at least good.

Bama and Florida are both better than us too. It just pisses me off that effort cost us the game. That’s coachable. I really like AK and want him to succeed though. It will be hard for us to find a better coach without taking a massive risk.

The last few posts, all true. It’s also easy to overreact after another loss. I think many, like me, were expecting far better from this team and it just isn’t happening. T Davis still can’t throw it in the ocean, key guys can’t stay out of foul trouble and time and again on offense we don’t seem to have a plan. Not unless that plan is to just dribble down and just see what happens sometimes without a single pass. I could go on and on about things I don’t like about our program and I’d still be hesitant to initiate a coaching change.

How might an Auburn person go about procuring one of those shirts?

Asking for a friend.

OK, I've made a decision on Kennedy. Given that the school didn't renew an extended contract during the off-season, that his recruiting budget is reportedly last in the SEC along with monies for assistant coaches, I think he's been dealt an extremely poor hand. The aforementioned effectively handicapped him this season with the loss of two good recruits (Pickett to Georgetown and the other to Pitt) that woulda/coulda been major contributors this season. Just last night alone all we heard was how effective Auburn is in the second half because of their depth. I'd say it showed last night. So if and until we have at first a solid replacement or we decide to really back him by clearing up what I've mentioned above, I think "running him off" would be a mistake and we can't continue to expect much, much more just on the back of a new building but with a gutted coaching staff with no long term backing.
